At this point, I didnt put anything for the front windshield.

You can bargain for 4K for windows and back. Call Muthu.

Guys, I have a Ford iKon and all windshields have Garware Ash Lite with 50% VLT and they're pretty OK considering the temperature in punjab.

Now, I want to get done the windshield and got quotes for Garware (only brand available in my town except desi ones).

Rs. 400 - totally Desi and Too dark
Rs. 1100 - Garware Internation Lite with VLT 70%. Quite Less dark than desi.
Rs. 1600 - Garware CoolVision with VLT 70%. Very very less dark and quite transparent. No one would know that a sun film is on except on close inspection. Heat Rejection upto 37%.

Is coolvision ok to go with?? i mean is 37% heat rejection enough???

please somebody reply to my query as well!

the Garware cool vision has a heat rejection of 37% and VLT 70%. Its quite transparent.

All i want to know is that punjab has a 40°C-49°C temperature range in peak summers so will 37% heat rejection be enough???

No it wont be enough, even 50% heat rejection is not that effective in peak summers. For front windhields, ideal ones are 3M CR-70 or vkool, which are expensive. Since VLT has to be 70% or above heat rejection can't be that good for almost all brands, better is vkool when it comes to good heat rejection. But with temperatures of 40 to 49 degrees even they wont be that very effective either.

Go for Garware Ice Cool Shield with 70% VLT and 50% HR. I think the new Alps from Garware has the same specs too and both these films have a Greenish tint.

There are some people who always like to defy laws, take kooltint-usa for example. They have mind-blowing 90% TSER for 80% VLT film, while "just" 52% for almost opaque 5% VLT film

Went ahead with Garware CoolVision. It seems that there is no SunFilm installed bcoz the sunflim is transparent. Yet to see the heat rejection!
On close inspection, you'll be able to see the Garware CoolVision logo near the wipers! Lovin' it!

Dealer Asked: Rs. 1600
Paid: Rs. 1500

Any long term reviews on 3M RE70?

I know its as good as V-kool when its new but does it hold up as good as v-kool after 3-4 years (in terms of scratches/visibility)?

Xenex Hyd is quoting 7K for 3M RE50/70 (side and rear) for NHC ?
Is that reasonable - if not what is the expected price for this setup

I think it's fleecing going by the price I paid for my i20's front windshield (3M RE50), Rs.2,000. Check in the Modifications and Accessories Section for Front Windscreen Sunfilm thread, we've related discussions there.

I am using RE-50 on sides and RE -70 on front on my Innova for 15 months now. I didn't allow my cleaner to clean it, so I generally do in weekend myself with cotton cloth. As off now no scratches so far. And I can't go below 25.5 degree in Delhi hot noon when alone and not below 24 when fully loaded.
