After few reviews and considerations and cross checking at different outlets, I opted for 3M FX- ST 35 for my wagon R and I find it very good and pleasing. Costed Rs.2800/-. Its the second lightest shade available from 3M. The company person came to my building and did the work in 2 hours. A tip for wagon R owners: you dont have to install 2 or 3 pieces of film on the rear glass because 3M has a single sheet as new introduction. I am not sure of other vehicles, probably all models have the single sheet for rear glass.

When you buy sun films, do them come in a sealed pack? I saw one which comes as a huge roll and the dealer just cuts them and put it on the car. The problem is that, how to verify the authenticity of the film?

Hey akshay you are lying. Even just for windscreen v-cool costs 4500 for the cheapest. If you can give me details of v-cool for this much money i will be grateful to you. And once more , i got this quote for high end garware and it was for the entire car.

hey swathyd. sorry about that. i thought you were being charged 9000 only for the front windscreen. i think the cheapest v-kool starts at about 12k only for sides. but in 9000 you can get 3M or llumar both which i think are better than garware.

As far as 3M is concerned, they do come in a sealed pack and the pack includes only the film rolls needed for your complete car. I have the original empty cover and the warranty card given by the company staff. So there is no hesitation to trust the authenticity.

I got Llumar AIR 75 installed on my windshield. After installation there were lot of air bubbles and most of them went off after 2 days. There are still some more (looks like some particles in between the film and the glass). Is this normal that you do not get a perfectly clear installation and we need to live with it? Can I go back to the shop and ask them to correct (reapply) it ?

Go and get it all sorted. If it is air and dust in between then the installer hasn't done a good job.

Llumar is avery high end film and if you are finding the bubbles and particles then the pre cleaning of the glass and then the smoothening with that rubber device hasn't been done properly.

Go back to the installer and get it corrected, or else with the passage of time the film might come unstuck.
