Hi Guys,

I put sunfilms for my Indica Vista from JC road in Bangalore. The brand is Sun Mild. I know it is not a reputed brand. Its very dark and impossible for anyone from outside to see anything inside. It cost me 1000 bucks. He told me that Garware is 850 buck and is not that good and that Sun Mild is good so I chose Sun Mild.

It has already developed few scratches
Has anybody heard of this brand Sun Mild and is it worth 1000 bucks?

I also put Art leather beige colour seat covers from the same shop. He initially quoted 4200 bucks I bargained and got it at 3000 bucks. Is this a good price?

Cheers,
Nitin

nitin did he mention that its a scratch resistant film? if yes then go and ask him to change it. otherwise also go and give him a piece of your mind. ask for replacement of the piece. insist on replacement.

cant comment on are leather, have no clue about it.

Bro i have used Sun Mild and the price you paid is too much. I paid Rs750 for all windows(front, rear and sides.) Also they fade in 4-5months. I had the 30% visibility one pretty dark but after 6months when i had to replace them they were almost like plain transparent sheet of plastic wrap. Garware is much better in quality and heat rejection. Plus they say its SRC (scratch resistant coating) but i did'nt think so, it developed scratches in a matter of days.

@ xehaust
Sorry for the late reply, I am happy with the performance of Solarguard Quantum37 during daytime driving, atleast they are much better than darker tints of filmpro charcoal20 which was used in my Indica. Also the the front windsheild is very clear and no problem at all during night driving. Damages were 6500 for front+ sides+rear for my chevy spark(inclusive of vat). Got a 10% discount.

Can anyone throw some light on authorized sun film installers in Trivandrum?
I am looking for one with good heat rejection for my innova (simpson red). visibility should not be lost by more than 20%.
Will sun film on the rear screen affect the defogger operation?

AutoShop-Koramangala. Got my front windshield film there. No issues so far.

Getz => Side and back +
City => Front windscreen.

That still combines to sunfilm required for only one car. If we get one more car, then we can negotiate better. Unless you are in a hurry, lets wait a little.

if you leave the front windscreen without the sunfilm then you are simply wasting your money!

cause thats the main inlet of heat for a car. so its best to cover that with film.

the front windscreen should be done with a clear film and the rest of the glass in the car should be done with a 30% shaded film and not more than that.

law in india says the film visibility should be around 70% for all the doors and rear windscreen of the vehicle.

Law in India says visibility should be 35%. Which translates to 65% of the light getting blocked.

But yes 35% is a pain. I guess 50% should be good enough.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...m-fitting.html

mine isnt working after the fitting( never checked if it was working before) . the guy was actually using a blade to clean the inside of the rear glass.I asked him to be careful, but the guy was like "yeah whatever". I dont think any other installer in tvm would care more. Either way, for the last two years, with tvm weather I've never felt the need for a defogger, dont think I'll start now
