Engine upgrade for Palio 1.9D !!

I am thinking of upgrading the engine of my Palio 1.8D to the new 1.3 MJD engine. Please suggest who can do a good job for me in Bangalore and the approximate cost thereof? What are the pro's and cons and Whether it is worth all the effort or should i wait for the new 1.8MJD which will be launched in the Fiat Bravo?

Gears,

It's 1.9D not 1.8 D, typo!!
And I think it is the 1.6 MJD which is going to be launched...

One question: Why do you want to get rid of your 1.9D engine? Isn't it a gem of an engine?

Don't waste your time. The MJD engine + ECU + ancillaries will cost much more than the book value of your car. Then, you have the headache of fitting & ensuring reliability.

Want my advice? Sell your Palio 1.9D and buy a Punto MJD. Thats, of course, if you really want to upgrade.

In the olden days, you could swap FIP diesel engines and carburetted petrol engines quite easily.
Today, engines are pretty well connected to the nervous system of the car.

As mentioned by all its not worth the effort/money, i guess 1.9D" has got good resale value. Punto for sure will be a good upgrade!

Even if you convert to 1.3 MJD. It will never match the driveability of the 1.9D. Remember there's no substitute for cubic inches!!
