Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

Looks different. But I find the look a little too radical. Maybe its me. I prefer keeping things stock. But I do have an itch to rub hands over that textured vinyl coating. Expect lot of people to do the same. This Punto is in for some serious petting.

I'm sorry, but according to me, the car could do without the black vinyl(?)

I'd like to give you a suggestion though. If you like experimenting with your car, I'd say try out the 'Abarth' livery. It should work extremely well with a Punto. In fact, I think a few BHPians have even attempted it. Perhaps you could check their cars out and look to do something different, but along the same lines.

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

I am sorry to say this, but if you keep experimenting like this, your car might end up in Weird and Wacky thread.

With this particular vinyl, it gives an impression that your car is sticking out the tongue.

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

@ vigneshram; IMO the only place for that vinyl is the roof. You could have done the RVM's too but not the hood!!
Sorry to say that stock Punto looks much better then what I'm seeing in pic above.

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

I would suggest you keep the grille ( and anything you might remove while modding) . they will come handy once you plan to resell the car.

And try out your alloy wheel experiment with black vinyl/cf stickers instead of applying them on your car. it resembles certain parts of the male anatomy right now

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

I think the vinyl on just the hood and roof will look better than extending it onto the front bumpers.

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

actually this thing is grabbing a lot of attention.i am not pretty sure whether people like it or people dont.and yes the roof will be done by may 1st.then lets see what people have to say.actually now there are people who say they love and people say they hate it.i havent taken any of your comments to the heart, afterall people have their choices to make. Some people love Red Punto.I like silver.so its like that. But 80 percent of the people would say that red is the best.there are people who call FIAT as the worst brand and swift is the best hatch. So i am ok with all the comments.

This car had a white bonnet and white roof when it was in the black avatar.see page 49 for reference.though the grill has a different look than mine.

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

Now it looks better than before.

If I were you, what I would do is:
Remove the vinyls from roof and hood.
Smoke the headlamps black (from inside, leaving just the reflector part and that oval indicator ring)
Leave mesh grills
Stock a carbon fiber vinyl on ORVMs
Just smoke the indicator part of tail lamps.

Actually, thats what I am planning to do with my car. I will soon post pictures when I am done.
