Re: My punto Absolute mods

What difference it will have with addition of three things like a spoiler, speakers ans some paint on the grill. I can assume that speakers can enhance the sound and may make music more pleasant for your ears. But with the other two, I don't think they will get noticed as well.

I would suggest that you should either elaborate your requirements with complete pictorial details, else no point in having a thread with little information for others to guess.

I think this thread should be merged with tastefully modified cars thread.

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

I did not go for many mods, just did simple cosmetic upgrades. Is it worth to go for a black gloss roof?

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

Hey Sidindica, your Punto looks amazing man. Especially the interiors, smashing and very sporty. Alloys look nice too.

I personally love black roofs, I'd make it compulsory for all cars if I could. Hehe. It would really add personality to your car. But in Punto, like many cars, the wind screen is wider than the roof. So the edges of the wind screen seem to protrude out in front of the black roof, which I feel looks a bit odd. But its just my personal quirk. Otherwise black roof (and black ORVMs too) on a red Punto? Anytime

sidindica
Are those 16" linea rims you have mounted ?

Also ,
I am planning to mount the spare wheel outside
I am not sure how to go about it , i do have few designs in mind .
But would need a reliable metal workshop to get the job done , any pointers would be helpful .

Seat covers and gear knob looks good too.

aritraray, Mounting spare wheel on tailgate is a bad idea IMHO.

i need the extra space as much as possible.
Moving on , I managed to get hold of a metal worker who assured he could implement the design i have in mind . Being weekends the only time to work on this , will update the pictures in a few weeks time.

How about doing it Punto Avventura style?
The parts would be available once the car is launched (if you can wait till then).
You will need to change the bumper.

I strongly believe so. If you have any doubt, just have a look at the new Punto 90HP in any Fiat showroom. It comes with glossy finished black roof, and looks awesome.

If you are planning to modify anything on the C pillar then the structural intergrity of the vehicle is compromised.

Can you elaborate for what the extra space is needed? I assume its the boot space you are talking about. For what are you planning to use the spare tyre well space? Will be interesting to know.

my plan is to mount a steel structure and then have the spare wheel mounted . do note i shall not drill anything at all , the whole thing shall be screwed on and easily detachable , will have a rollback way if needed.

the structure shall be so made to mount cycles if needed as well.
the extra space is for a JBL tube thats been lying with me for some time .

the idea may sound completely ridiculous at the moment but fingers crossed .

Thanks Sumit , the avventura design looks good

I'd say yes. Look at this Punto 90HP from the Auto Expo:

Looks fantastic along with the gloss black ORVMs. You should attempt this IMO.

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

A small DYI while watching a boring T20 match yesterday
Costed me an hour's time & Rs. 320/- worth 3D carbon fiber vinyl.

Worth the efforts IMO.

Here you go!
I sourced the wrap from ebay.in.

Had removed the 'plastic thing' and washed it with liquid detergent, dried it in sunlight before applying the wrap
