ANy idea what the Induction Kit and Free Flow exhausts shoud cost?

Cold air Induction kit will will cost you around 6000 bucks while free flow will set you back by around 10 to 12,000 bucks. Get the Iridiums if possible. They'll help the mileage part. Call up Four seasons on 24940444 and speak to Rahil. Tell him you're a friend of mine (Chetan). He'll give you a good discount.

Adman, can you post some pics of these 2 installation on your car??
My warranty is running out this august. Just looking around if I can improve that low end a little bit.

Also, a description of those alloys you have will also help. sAP, another corsa owner here, did a detailed description of things he tried on his alloys.

Contact someone who designs headers as per your requirement ( for low end torque ) check with Viper or Automech. Get a good air filter with the right pipeing..this would defintely make it more peppy and responsive.

Doesn't the Sail 1.6 come with Alloys. My wife's car did (14"). The only add-on I needed were the motorised mirrors.

So now this is the list of mods we are planning to do at the first stage:

a) Irridium plugs
b) Free Flow

Note any mods that increase the noise level (esp at low revs) are not going to be appreciated - my wife enjoys her in car music and any external noise is not welcome.

@ Navin, the first mods should be a KnN, since you are not too inclinced on any noise i would recommend you a Stock Replacement Filter butttttttt the difference with a conical filter is mind blowing, which wont be found with the Stock Replacement Filter.

Go for OWS iridium spark plugs.

Also get the exhaust custom made as per your requirement.

Viper customizes the exhaust as per your needs whereas Automech has a universal set-up for all cars.

@ BUSA - Any conical filter is a absolute NO for Navin in the Corsa as the intake roar is too loud. For people who dont mind or like the intake roar it is a must have.

Viper

I agree with Viper,

a) I absolutely do NOT want to hear my engine or exhaust in the cabin - the cabin, for a ICEer, is sacred. I'm told the K&N and Cold induction kit will both increase noise levels.

My wife and son are as fond of music as I am - my son's taste has already started differing from ours - he's moved from ABBA, Queen, Pink Floyd and The Beatles to Black Eyed Peas (some song about lumps and humps), Red Hot Chilly Peppers (wonder why both these groups have food as part of their names) and a song called Crazy (not the Aerosmith song - some new artist who was at the Grammies).

b) From what I have gathered so far Iridium plugs and a Free Flow exhaiust should add a bit of low end pep (my wfe says she just feel the need for more response below 2000rpm and from 0-30kmph). If there are any other ideas please feel free to share.

I ran into some luck. I talked to some "people" in the know and they told me not to bother with the plugs just get the free flow done. My needs (a bit more oomph below 2000 rpm and 30kmph with no increase in cabin noise) dont dictate much more.

That's the guy. Narly (Valley Girl English) name!
There use to be a time when "Barkley" only meant "Sir Charles".

BTW that Hump-Lump song is pretty vulgar. They play this on public shows like the Grammies? I fear the day that he spouts those lyrics in his Prep class in school.

good idea navin. you can try the plugs later. I dont think you need to change the end can only the headers. the back pressure shoud not be reduced. this will reduce the low end and increase the top end. I'm no expert on this.

You should tell the person that you dont want increase in top end just low-end and midrange. they can design the free flow accordingly.

@navin: you should listen to the lyrics of Akon smack that or chamillionaire. then my humps wont be so bad.

My wife and me were red faced when they played the Hump-Lump song. All the while our "almost-5 year old" and his friend were dancing to the beat. I was under the impression that the Grammies (like the Super Bowl) were family shows.
