Received the Turbo Dump pipe in mail today, took a trial with it bolted on the turbo and installed in the engine bay along with manifold.
Everything fits perfect!
And yes, it doesnt interfere with the AC Compressor so I get to keep the AC...woooohoooo!

Figured out Intercooler piping also.Suddenly things have started rolling fast.
hi
what boost are you planning to run. when are you starting the engine.

My engine is already running. Not yet changed the pistons and rods yet though.Once the manifold is done, will be starting her NA and sort out ECU thing first.By then my other turbo parts should arrive and then I will go turbo.Initially I will be going 5 Psi boost on stock internals and then once the engine work is done, maybe 18-19 psi.

Amey Sir,

I recently happened to go through your Lancer Upgrade thread, I must say your skill and knowledge on the subject is amazing. All upgrades seem to be well planned and executed.

I own a 1999model petrol Lancer with the 4G15 engine. I’m in need of help for troubleshooting few issues, Could you please send me a PM with the contact details of you workshop personal.

Regards,

Chengappa.

That EBC solenoid... Nice

Does the MS do closed-loop boost v/s rpm boost control?

I think the valves need case hardening- they wouldnt last very long without that. (The black colour of the valve before it is machined is due to case hardening- nitriding). Better cross check with some metallurgist though.

Thats correct Pranav. Actually there was one model in the Evo 8 which has this same turbo. Not sure about that model. But yes, what you say is right, this turbo was first introduced on the Evo 6.5

Hello Amey,

I own the exact model and been there at the workshop last month for a routine maintenance.

During conversing with the mechanic, (who is pretty knowledgible and passionate about the cars and a lancer and VW specialist), I was surprised to know two fellow lancers' engine got seized and no spares were available in India, and he is importing two brand new turbocharged engines to fix them...

If you're interested, I could help with my mechanic's whereabouts. He is at Coimbatore though...
