True, could be quite possible.

Re: Engine swap/Performance mods in Lancer

Congrats on the numbers my friend. Use them as a baseline and use your standalone to first get the same numbers, minus the torque undulations. A better ignition map will eliminate them. I've been going through the MS documentation and I believe it to be the real hairy chested man's ECU

Honestly, the complexity and list of features is equally mind-boggling.

Re: Engine swap/Performance mods in Lancer

You should find out the reason for a wavy torque curve between 3,700-4,700 rpm. (could be Knocking) What fuel was used during dyno run? and whats static C:R and compression pressure in current setup at the time of Dyno.
A data log of A/F-R would have helped a lot.

Yeah I was concerned about that curve too.Anyway there could be a lot of reasons for that.
Fuel used during the dyno was Speed 97
compression is around 160-162 psi throughout.
unfortuntely, the wideband wasnt hooked up at the time of the dyno. Now it is.

There's something about modifying a Lancer... lol! I feel like I'm being bitten by that bug again

Don't ever think think about it - or i will keep sending those pics i have with me. Heard that it remains as a stand-by car while others are used daily. PP2s are still yum - so are the replicas and the suspension.

Let's hope the swap goes on smoothly without much hiccups.

Re: Engine swap/Performance mods in Lancer

awesome dude !! finally needed a twin cam!! any reason not going for a MIVEC head ? 4G92 MIVEC could have been a hell riser !

Glued to this tread.
Chears..

Well, to name a few,
It was discontinued a long time ago.So even if I do source one, getting parts later on would have been a problem.I did not want the MIVEC and turbo tuning complexity.I basically went for DOHC just for the heck of it and ofcourse, the better flow characteristics of a twin cam head compared to single cam.

Re: Engine swap/Performance mods in Lancer

Amey, I am really amazed at the knowledge you have and the way your build is going.

Now that the lancer is our second car, I am looking to start somewhere.

I was looking up the details of the 4g15 DOHC MIVEC head in production for the colt. Technically it should fit our head but on various websites people have suggested otherwise but without any experience of the same.

What do you think? Also from where can I procure the head? What is the total cost I am looking at?I can spend upto 60-80K just for the basic DOHC MIVEC head with install.

Looking to your guidance.

Hey,
Theoretically, it should fit and if I am not mistaken, it does.Let me confirm it from the guy who sent me my head and has helped me in this build from the beginning which includes, sending some crucial parts which are impossible to get here.

Will get back to you soon.

Re: Engine swap/Performance mods in Lancer

Is the guy who sourced the head from you based out of India?

Your help is extremely appreciated. Thank you.
