@ Pramod,
There was no need to rebuild the engine, it is in perfect condition, doesnt make sense to rebuild an almost new condition engine.
We had just plonked it in to make sure the mountings are right.
The engine is out, we removed it yesterday.

Good progress and well researched Amey,

All the best. I am watching this rebuild.
Next time I am in Pune, we will try and make it the workshop for seeing the progress.

Yes that is a 6 cyl automatic. Been there for years now. Though tread cautiously. His body kit work may be brilliant BUT as far as his mechanical work goes (that too a swap) BEWARE !!! There are enough horror stories you will find on this forum itself.

The famous BMW mess up, MIVEC mess up, GTO mess up & various others that may have chosen to keep quiet.

Nothing personal - just don't want fellow members suffering the same fate I & quite a few others did.

Best of luck

Guys, why is that putty filler used on the welds? It is supposed to be primed & painted/power-coated. Using the filler in the welds will only enhance the rusting process as it can hold moisture more.

I think there is a misconception with the painting/coating people where a putty/metal-paste/filler is considered to be a anti-corrosive material. Actually IT IS NOT! Does anyone seen any of these material used from the factory? Answer is 'NO'! They do a galvanizing after the welds & then prime it, then finally paint it! So why this filler in welds?

PS: The basic material in making a filler is clay. Clay / mud is good in retaining moisture.

Yes it is stock Evo8 turbo. This is slightly different than the stock one, this came in the Tommy Makkinnen edition.

Apologies if I'm mistaken, but the Tommi Makinen edition was an Evo 6, or a 6.5.

Hey amey, the 3 angle valve job is more significant at valve seatsl, not only the valves, have a look at pic what i mean to say, get it done at valve seats.
