Are they short distance or long throw beams?

Aren't these extra lights illegal without RTO approval? My brother-in-law was once fined by the Mobile Court for 2 such extra lamps (even when these lamps were not in working condition).

Noobie question, but whats the difference between the 500FF and the Hella 500s? (They look pretty similar!) May have gotten the model number wrong, but the other ones are round for sure.

Another noobie question: is 3750 for a pair?

There's something to do with the height of installing the extra lights. I think it's legal if they are below the line stock headlamps. I am not sure though!

And yes, they cost Rs.5k. Felt it was worth when I saw the technician showing me the light demo. Focused and pointed, and definitely the quality makes a big difference compared to cheap chinese makes.
Nice lights, would like to see them on the car though.

Haute by the way are the biggest rip-off in chennai. 5k are way too much.

500FF is a clear lens lamp while 500 is a normal lens. Dimensions are same.

If these are available at 3750 a pair, then I was definitely ripped-off at Haute. Let me check the bill before I bang my head on the wall.

Hmm... good to know. Now I am in second thoughts that should I go to Haute or find some other good installer in Chennai. Can anybody recommend a good installer who does a nice job without damaging anything? Information in this regard is much appreciated.

I would suggest you get the clamps for fixing the lamps done from outside. The wiring is pretty simple and you can do it yourselves. Thanks to Hella for providing the complete wiring kit. All you need is a drill to fix the switch and the relay. I did my wiring in less than an hour.

@Holyghost
Thanks for the info. I will ask my neighborhood auto electrician to do the job after readying the clamps. Haute quoted Rs.600 for fixing the lamp or Rs.1500 for making custom clamps and fixing. I think I should better ignore them.

These lamps look even better in the flesh, the light is awesome. I am currently looking for something which does not protrude out & therefore, am considering these: post2006468 .Can't wait for the installation pics

Also, is that your office cubicle? If yes, then, I am also in the same boat.

Haute seems to be ripping you off big time! 1.5k for custom clamps and fitting? something i got done for 200 bucks(clamps) wiring is easy and can be done by any auto electrician for 100 bucks. I did the wiring myself and i dont have any electrical background.
I paid 4500 for 700ff's over a year ago. The Mivec in my profile pic has the 700ff's.

Hope this helps - www.shop4hella.com

Rallye 500FF is long & narrow beam, while comet 500 is wide spread beam. Select carefully as per your requirement.
