Another Gypsy Metamorphosis.

"WHAT THE CATERPILLAR CALLS THE END OF THE WORLD, THE MASTER CALLS IT A BUTTERFLY" -Richard Bach

Hi All,
Wanted to get my Gypsy souped up for off-roading mainly for photography to enable me to get to difficult terrains .

What used to be a 98 Model 1.3L White Carb Gypsy went through a Metamorphosis.I will let the attached photos do the talking.

I would like to Thank Jagat Nanjappa, Shahnawaz Khan and FRK Racing, Bangalore for the Efforts,Advise and Inputs and the Works..... and Of Course..Team-bhp wherein I used to lurk silently.

Modifications Done:
1600cc Baleno (2000 model) Engine Swap .
SPOA
4.89 Ratio Gear set for the Transfer Case
Negative Offset Steel Rims,
31 Inch Maxxis Trepador Tires.
Composite Fiber Rear springs,
Modified Front Leaves with Extra Springs.
Traction Bar,
External Roll Cage.

Modifications Planned.
Lockers for Front and Back
Larger Front Axles.
(Have the above two. Just a matter of fitting them.Wanted to get adjusted to the new driving style first)
Steering.(No issues as of now.But to prevent the damage to ball ends).

The vehicle runs pretty smooth, the torque is amazing and I am in love with the crawl ratio. Like doing many things in Slow motion.
On highways, the Gypsy is pretty stable upto 100plus kmph with speedo error corrected. (because of larger tires)

Eventually will post other pictures.

Any Suggestions and Advices are Welcome.

Regards,
Bishan

Good work mam, though I would love to see a Gypsy in soft top. Put some auxillary fog lights on the roof.

Hey, good to know that Jagat Nanjappa helped you to get the work done? I grown up reading rally and race reports of Jagat and Anita.

Is he there in Team BHP forum? If not why don't you ask him to join the forum and share his knowledge and experience with us.
