What are the upgrades that they have done to the suspension, any idea? And Congratz one of the most underrated cars in our market. But its a pleasure to own one of these.

Tested the car with full load of 5 people(400kgs) just now over big humps and no scraping issues at all.

check out the car its not lowered, though he told if lowered your handling will improve.

Remapped figures

Remap done by TdiRacing (TdiRacing.net)

As suspension as been done i wanted to go for braking but couldnt resist the 435nm of torque so remapped it.

Figures after remap
Bhp - 163bhp
Torque - 435nm

Dyno figures of the remap at RedRoosterRacing
Re-Mapped Optra Magnum TCDI. EDIT:Dyno Graph on Pg 4-magnum_copy.jpg

Great job brraj. And it peaks quite early as well.

Downpipe looks stock as the Job is done inside.

What i have done is a Re-map of the ECU and not installed a tuning box (ex-petes box).

re: Re-Mapped Optra Magnum TCDI. EDIT:Dyno Graph on Pg 4

what-is-that!!!! The figures are amazing!!

If these are the figures on the wheels, whats the Engine output? I think it looks like the turbolag would still exists but the band has gone up by miles. Thank god for ABS. The clutch is gonna have it !!

brraj you are giving me devilish ideas. My folks at home do not understand why would someone tune a magnum which accroding to them is already strong. They would think you are crazy. If only they could understand whats in the mind of an enthusiast.

brraj how does it sound after the downpipe mods? can you see black smoke on quick acceleration?
post your review of the in-gear accelaration and the handling with the modified suspension setup.

Overall with these kind of torque we can give high end cars run for its money.

May be 20,000kms less than the stock one, again depends on your usage.

More power is never enough.

Sound has not changed, A bit of more black smoke than the stock one and definitely not like trucks. More detailed review coming on Re-map shortly.

Regarding the suspension setup you can check it here - page 1 end. Let me know if you have more questions on it.

re: Re-Mapped Optra Magnum TCDI. EDIT:Dyno Graph on Pg 4

Actually i wanted to go for petes box but after seeing the torque figures thought of getting it remapped from tdi racing.

Conversation between me and TDI racing tuner before the remap job

Me - What about reliability of my engine after remap.
Tdi guys - If any thing happens to the engine will sponser you a new car. These maps have be tested on 7 magnums already.
Me - Usually i see more smoke on remapped cars
Tdi guys - No issues can tune it to your needs.
Me - What are all the main parametes you will be changing?
Tdi guys - Rail pressure, boost etc..
Me - What is the cost of re-map
Tdi guys - rs.45000

After the remap took test drive on NICE roads. To say you can't really feel the difference in performance on these car because of linear power delivery combined with optra comforts. Only way to check the performance is you need to drag with other performance cars. Initially dragged with a peted elantra and was able to maintain quite a distance very fast later slowed down because brakes are still not upgraded.

@benzinblut - 163bhp and 434nm of torque is at the wheels, engine output will be more.

Time to work on brakes to handle this monster.

OMG.. Thats I N S A N E torque figures.

435Nm torque will pull a 18 wheeler easily.

How is the traction ? Wheel spin in 4th gear ?

@brraj. What are you upto? You seem to have clicked all those points that an enthusiast would like to dream of. Well done buddy .

I am looking forward to read your long term review of especially the suspension work. I was keen on buying a Magnum, but its poor handling and too soft suspension put me off. 20K charged by Tdi Racing seems VFM for the job.
