Thanks SRK !! Your points were really helpful.

You can expect 2 rings and a Voltage transformer with it.
Since you are getting it done by a professional, they should be having all the required things, so no need to get anything.
Voltage Transformer - Hmm, this sounds interesting. I will re-check with the seller whether they have this included in the package.
The installation guys will have things handy, but want to make sure that they don't ask to buy additional devices to support this installation. Wires, Tapes n Gums will be there with the installation guys.

- Does this require a separate wiring or something to control the load of current ?
Wiring, can be done separately and a switch added to control it but usually they just connect it with the parking lights. Let your installer know how you prefer it.
My plan is to keep it hooked to either the parking light, or fog light. I don't want to have a separate switch, so hopefully the parking light stalk will work for the angel ring.

- Does this replace the existing headlight bulb ? Or will it be a Ring (like a round DRL) on the headlight console ?
You will not have to replace the halogen bulb. This is just an add-on. The rings will be added to the headlamp unit. Something similar to what you see in BMWs.
That's a relief that I don't have to change the bulbs. Yes, it looks like those of BMW and that's why I intend to have it on my Beat.

They do look good.
You might not be able to remove them as these will have to be properly installed using adhesive, so they stay in place.
Also do add the cost of installation, as Rs. 549 is just for the angel rings.
But yes, I'll see what kind of adhesives they use. If one goes kaput, atleast I should be able to remove it, without hurting the headlight console.
I am assuming Rs.500 more for the installation. Equate to ~Rs.1100, which sounds decent.
I will check the price of the product + installation (combined) at a local accessories dealer and see whether online / offline is cheaper.

Thanks once again for the clarification and help.

Try Anand Distributors near J C Road - they are distributors for a few reputed automotive light assembly and lens manufacturers. I have bought lens for my car and bike a few times from them. Google for address and phone number.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Time to think of some lighting mods (non-intrusive) on my i20.

Stumbled upon --> http://cgi.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...X:eRTM:IN:1123

Similar questions as above

Is it a direct fit?
Do I need anything else with this?
Major wiring alterations?

How different is this from the naaptol product costing just R549 vs the above costing R3899?

Thanks in advance.

It's not 549 since it is a Projector.
It is a bolt in unit, you'll have to open the headlamps and pop it in, that's it.
From the ad it seems that you'll have to buy ballasts and bulbs, which could cost about 4k combined off of dx, probably double if from eBay or branded.
Make sure you find out from the seller what bulbs it takes.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Hello!

I am considering changing all the front bulbs (headlamp, parking light and fog lamps) on our i10.

I want better than stock lighting, preferably slightly whitish lights and not voiding the warranty.

All light experts, please suggest the good bulbs for this and approx. cost.

Thanks!

@KALINGA; Head Lamps Osram Night Breaker Plus. Drop in replacement and about 30% more liight.
Fog: No idea, NB+ is available, but the slightly cooler colour temperature in my view is not so good.

You both have similar query, so giving a common answer :
Change your stock bulbs with Philips XV or Osram NB+. It should provide some 30% or so more illumination than the stock bulbs. Ensure that the bulbs are 4300K.

Kalinga, the fogs should be 35W and not 55W.

What about the fogs and the parking lights?

Why do you want to change the fogs?
The fogs are not meant to illuminate the road like your headlamps.

However, if you still insist, you can try something like the Osram Silverstar (35W) (I hope the name is correct) or even HID bulbs in the fogs. Not sure about the results, though.

Well, I think it would look quite odd, with two different colours on the headlamps and fogs.

What about the parking lights?

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

The stock H8 fog bulbs in my Ritz were pathetic. So, I replaced them with Osram Cool Blue H11 bulbs assuming the throw would be good. But I seriously don't find them effective at all. I am not able to judge potholes very clearly.

I find the stock fogs in my Fiesta much better than the H11's in my Ritz.

Is this due to the lack of seat height adjustment in the Ritz? Probably I sit a tad lower in the Ritz and Ritz with a large dashboard obstructs the vision?

Can someone guide?

Thanks for the response Mayank - The seller only said I would need to buy ballasts (he did not mention anything about the bulb). Nevertheless I have asked him the same about what bulbs would go in there.

Will update once I have a response.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Can anyone suggest where I can get Fog lamps fitted for 2009 Civic SMT.

I went to Sachin's Autoshop and they did not have stock. They arranged an "imported from Thailand" one - but it was not the right size. They have promised to try to get and is quoting Rs. 6000.

I think it is on the higher side......
