Hi,
I tried to read the whole thread starting from post 1, but got terribally lost somewhere after page 35.

I am planning to upgrade the stock bulbs of my Exteem.
What I gathered so far is 100/90W Philips is the way to go.(i lost it between the blue light/rally/xyz).
Q1: Which one?

and to switch to these higher wattage bulbs, I would also need a good relay.
Q2 Which brand?

Another question that I have is, does Esteem has separate low beam and high beam bulbs or is it integrated in one.

Lastly, how often ppl have been caught for this perticular modification in there cars?

no one more...how much would all this cost me?

And one more...how will this affect my warrenty...if I get the upgrade done thru the dealer will he alteast honour my warrenty(in case something goes wrong)?

Would appreciate some guidance...

Regards,

For the people who want white/blue light which will make the car look trendy they have Hyper and Mega. Hyper is 5000Kelvin and Mega is 4300K. They are priced 1100 and 1000 respectively.
If hyper is 1100 and mega is 1000 then what do we get for 1625 ??

If your concern is light throw then "Philips rally" is the way to go but still i would recommend to take a look at "Philips blue vision"

and to switch to these higher wattage bulbs, I would also need a good relay.
Q2 Which brand?
Bosch/Roots

Its integrated one

Lastly, how often ppl have been caught for this perticular modification in there cars?
Havn't heard in delhi, using HIDs as well as blue vision in my car.

no one more...how much would all this cost me?
Bulbs - 1000 Rs
Relay & wiring - 500 Rs
Labor - 50-100 Rs

And one more...how will this affect my warrenty...if I get the upgrade done thru the dealer will he alteast honour my warrenty(in case something goes wrong)?
As far as you do not cut any wire warranty will not be affected, but if some short circuit happened due your wiring or relay malfunction then warranty will be surely voided. So better is to confirm with different dealers, as one dealer may not guide you properly.

Would appreciate some guidance...

Thanks ashthedivx...
one more question...
If i am not wrong... "Philips blue vision" will have white bluish light....and rally will be yellow light.

apart from looking "cool" is there any other advantage of white light?

On well painted modern roads(with lane markers etc., etc.,) white headlights will make the reflectors shine more.
But on majority of out highways, its no use.

thanks

thanks prakasse for the link. figured out that santro fogs use H3 bulbs and OEM fittment comes with 55W. i dont think i could use more powerful than these.

as far as blue bulbs emitting white light; they are useless. its just the appearance. all philips range of crystal, diamond and blue visions are totally useless in terms of brightness.
