I have replaced the stock H4 in my Eon with the Osram Nightbreaker and its a really really good bulb. The throw in low beam mode goes far enough for safe driving. You can give it a try and will not regret.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

I own a Hyundai Xcent and after my recent run to Goa, i feel to change the stock lamps. I spoke to my Service agent and he says that they are of Hyundai make (12V, 60/55W). Will there be any difference if i change to Philips or Osaram with the same ratings or shall i upgrade to Philips 12569EVB1 H4 Essential Vision Headlight (12V, 100/90W). I don't want to tamper with the inner wiring's and warranty.

100/90W is any day a better option. This will need a relay to be fixed. This is a common thing many car owners do and haven't heard of any warranty declines due to this setup yet.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

The bright mode of my car's headlamp failed on one side. It is 100/90 bulb which was replaced with the stock ones with a relay fitted.

I have the stock bulbs the car came with . Is it possible to fit them back although there is a relay fitted for the 100/90 or does the relay and wiring have to be removed .

You can directly put in the stock 55/60 W bulb without any changes to the wiring.

The idea of the relay was to support the higher current required by the 90/100 bulb. This can very easily support the lower current required by the stock bulb.

I believe your query is already being addressed, but still would chip in.
The H4, 60/55W bulbs are mostly of Phenoix make that Hyundai offers in Eon, Grand i10 in general.

Upgrade the wiring with relay when you are planning to install H4 100/90W bulbs. Here is wiring kit : http://www.amazon.in/Philips-12003XM...ng+kit+philips

For bulbs, Philips Rally are the best when it comes to sheer amount of light throw. But I faced alignment issues with them, and my Swift (still in warranty) is running Lumax wiring kit with Osram H4 100/90W bulbs.

If you still want to stick to 60/55W bulb, I found Ring Automotive Ultima +130 the best of all bulbs (in 60/55W range) I have used till date. I had them in my Grand i10 and those bulbs made night drives better. Also, get the beam alignment done if you plan to install new bulbs. There is separate thread for alignment of lights.

Hi!

I am in search of Ring Automotive Ultima +130. Where did you buy them from?

Here is the link on Flipkart.
https://www.flipkart.com/ring-xenon-...me3jqdkhkzn3ut

And another link : http://www.epitstop.in/Upgrades/Ring...id-944795.html

In my case, a first set I ordered from Flipkart was defective, it was replaced by a genuine set and the real difference was in high beam. I would recommend it over Philips Xtreme Vision +.

Since how long have you been using Ring Automotive Ultima +130. Are they durable? I will look at both these options. Thank you for your suggestions.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

The 100/90 Philips Rallys that I have just installed (along with the necessary relay wiring) heat up the headlight outer casings real fast, within a few minutes of usage. Is there anything that I need to be concerned about? Any potential pitfalls? I know this is a common occurrence with higher powered headlamps, but are there any complications that usually lead out of it? The vehicle in question is a Swift VXI.

Look forward to hearing from users of upgraded bulbs.

I am using this combination from approximately 2 years/70,000 kms in my Swift ZDi. You can check my ownership thread for details.

Till date no issue, no kind of damage to reflector or any kind of discoloration.

I love the setup and recommend to many.

I dont see much reviews on Philips H4 12v 100/90 P43t Rally. Are these the bulbs you are using ? If this is good, then i will go with the below combination.

Philips 12003XM H4 Heavy Duty Relay Wiring Kit for High Power
Philips H4 12v 100/90 P43t Rally

Thank you a4anurag. I met a local accessory guy who was talking about Lumex relay kit and was insisting me to go with this by saying that it was much better than Philips. He also said that he will only install the kit and if there were any alignment issues then that needs to be sorted out by an electrician. I will visit Ministers road this weekend and see if I find this original Philips combination from any of them.
