Which TASS is this?

There are no any headlight alignment places in Bangalore AFAIK. However, i would suggest United Motors Bosch Service center on the service road parallel to WOC road. It is very near to you and they do a good job usually. A bit on the pricey side. I have used their services multiple times and work wise they do a splendid job every time. Get in touch with Mahesh. He is a level-headed logical thinking SA who can solve your problems.

EDIT: I remembered seeing headlight alignment option at A1 car care. You can call them as well.

Here is a link to their listing in our directory

But then these new ultra bright philips ones may be good.

Fog lamps in most cars barely throw any usable light. Not sure of Polo but these should be much better than stock ones anyway. There is a Hella micro de sealed projector too which a lot of people use but that will involve retrofitting which you are averse to so just go ahead with the ones you chose. Barely cost 1.5k anyway.
Hey Bud,

Thanks a lot for your inputs. With the help of your points, I took the liberty to check with a few local dealers who have these bulbs.

There is a new twist which has come up and i would appreciate if some Polo drivers or experienced folks could weigh in on this.
It seems that the Philips Ultinon LED although are plug and play do not fit into the assembly properly. One of the dealers said the ballast and heat sink protrude out due to which the dust cap may not fit. If the cap does not fit then dust particles will harm the headlight assembly and the bulbs will be exposed to this dirt too.
If we close the dust cap, then the bulbs will over heat and conk off.
(Double barrel headlight assembly)
I am so disappointed in how VW wont let us play even a little bit with our cars.

Sadly i have already purchased the bulbs and do not know what to do with this. If any VW owner who has fitted LEDs is reading this, please help a brother out with your two cents.

Thanks!

As suggested by one BHP'ian in this thread, you can try to reverse the dust cap rubber and fit it. If it still doesn't fit, you could procure larger dust caps for the required diameter.

Here are a couple for reference.

Amazon: Ocamo HID LED Headlight Car Dust Cover Waterproof Dustproof Sealing Cap 55MM 2Pcs

Hey, I have ultinon on high and low beams and on the fogs too. The dust caps fit perfectly. You can fit them without any issues.

I can send fitment photos if you want.

Sir you have rescued me from the abyss! I would be very grateful if you could share some pixtures.

Also, how are the lights performing ? I think aesthetically they are amazing to look at it definitely adds a different look to the car.
I mainly drive in the city so the low beam + fog lamp will give great illumination.

2014 Fluidic Verna OEM Bi-Beam Halogen Projector to Bi-Beam LED Projector

So this Sunday was well spent. Thanks to my wife who supported me in this entire build. With no intentions of upgrading the car for the foreseeable future, the itch for better lighting was still on. My car (Hyundai Fluidic Verna) has an OEM Bi-Halogen Projector (both low and high in a single projector). This projector takes HB3 9005 type bulbs. It is adequate in performance, but the need for better lighting was still there.

Tried HIDs and being a bi-beam projector, flashing was a concern during the daytime and in the end (after using HID's for 6 months), the ballast went kaput. Improvement was massive, but still not as good as true HID Projector (like Mini D2S 4.0 or FXR 3.0).

Next up LED Bulbs. Absolutely useless. This Hyundai projector is absolutely not made for anything other than incandescent bulbs. Tried every type of LED bulb. Everyone else who views the car from outside loves how it looks, but when I'm driving, I'm just blind. The light is barely visible on the road and in averse weather conditions, might as well park the car and take the cab.

So, I got these LED Projectors from AliExpress. This is the iLens Bi-LED Projector that Morimoto brands as "Profile". The advantage is instant startup and lesser power draw. Fantastic on-road lighting. Flashing will make most people get off the road/dip their beams. This goes right up there as one of the best along with the mini d2s 4.0.

Retrofitting these projectors isn't as simple as a bulb change. So after numerous hesitations, I was like "What the hell, let's just go for it."

Now, let the pictures do the talking.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Installed led fog lights on my Creta. H227/881 bulb type from S&D. Installation guy had to remove the bumper and the fog light housing to install it. For some reason the fog light were not fitting in correctly and he had to brush off the holder a bit to make it fit.

Coming to the lighting, it is huge difference from stock fog light which I believe is of no use.
I don't have the before picture to share.

Hi sir

The lights are doing great, they need additional adjustment which any installer can provide. Attaching throw photos.

My Philips x-tremevision blew after 3.5 years.
I'm planning to get it replaced with 60/55W bulbs as I don't want to do any rewiring.
Osram seems to have a new model called nightbreaker laser that is available.
Should I buy it from Powerbulbs or try Amazon which has it cheaper at 1595rs.

Or are there any other good options.

Osram NB Laser is good. I've used it earlier and found it good.

Unfortunately Powerbulbs has started charging 8.95 pounds for delivery to India which negates any price advantage or discount coupons.
