You can try www.powerbulbs.com

They do free shipping to India amd usually run a 25% discount campaign.

Totally worth the money.

You can try Osram NB Laser (2nd Gen) or Philips Racing Vision (I'm using H4 version of this in my car for the past 1 year; really good performance)

Powerbulbs stopped free shipping to India sometime ago and charge close to 8 pounds for shipping.

Oh, my bad. I didn't make a purchase from there in the last 6 months; so not entirely aware of the scenario. Thanks for the update.

Please check if this is the 2nd Gen NB Laser. Coz the first gen NB Laser had some bulb burnout issues.

The 2nd gen NB Laser will be marked as +150% light output on the box. Thats your way of identifying against the 1st gen NB Laser.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Hey all,

I'm curious to know if it's possible to switch from HID bulbs to LED bulbs or vice versa in a retrofit projector setup (i.e. headlights modified from the OEM reflector setup to a projector setup)?

If it is possible, what additional modifications would it require?

With the various LED types/sizes/brands - any particular brand offering a minimal modification / plug-and-play solution? Especially, when switching to LEDs in an HID-projector setup?

LEDs if you have a HID projector will be a downgrade in intensity and spread. Why do you want to go for them? Also the Aftermarket HID projectors generally have a very thin opening for taking in the HID bulb which may not fit the generally larger LEDs we get. It all depends on what projector you have but yes in short LEDs will be a downgrade.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

HI Guys,
I have a query,
I replaced my Rapid's fog lamp bulb (H8/11) today.

I put the Osram Night Breaker Unlimited 55 watt bulb.
The stock fog lamp bulb is 35 watt.
I know about the heating issues of higher wattage bulb, I am not much concerned about that, other then this, is there any other thing, i need to worry about? Like, Wiring, Fuse, Switches etc.
Is there any other precaution to avoid any issues later?

H8 bulbs generally do not come in 55w. Where did you buy yours from?

Osram Night breaker unlimited H11,
12 V, 55 W.
My concern is it should not create issue for Wiring, Fuse, Switch etc.

I recently installed aftermarket projectors, and realized that only HID bulbs get into them.

I don't intend to switch to LEDs anytime soon. But a while back, when I was doing my research for the projectors, I found many people talking about switching between HID and LED bulbs. Hence, I was wondering if I was missing something.

The H11 55W will draw 1.5 amps more current than the H8 35W. This should not be a problem and the stock harness and fuses will be able to handle it easily. If the H11 was an overload on the electrical the fog lamp fuse would have blown by now. If it has not then you need not worry.

Regarding heating, only way to know is to check the lamps at regular intervals.

I had successfully used H11 in place of H8 for my Ertiga's fog lamps for more than year till I switched over to Orsam LED DRL + Fog lamps later.

As you mention, I faced no issues either with the extra load which was still within the limits (35w Vs 55w for each bulb) or with the heating. The output however was only marginally better and I would blame that on the very basic reflector design!

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

For those who are in Bangalore and going over to JC Road for light bulbs.

Nitin Automobiles - It is on the right hand side once you take the left turn from the JC road junction.

This dealer is not listed in Philips website, however the dealers who were listed in philips website directed me to this one since they did not have anything more than some fancy H4 bulbs.

I needed original philips \ osram bulbs for the headlight (Premium Vision 55/60), brake light, indicators, parking lamps etc - they had everything.

Can you please post approximate location on Google maps? Would be easier for everyone to locate. Thanks
