*Installed* - Dead Pedal in my Mahindra Scorpio

It all started with me feeling the need of having a dead pedal beside clutch for left foot rest for long drives and incity bumper to bumper driving conditions. I broached this topic with my M&M ASC 3 weeks ago with Supervisor, Devender who said he shall get back to me. Devender called me up last week informing that he ordered for a Xylo's dead pedal which arrived and wanted me & my BOSS to come to ASC for some DIT(do it 'themselves').

Hari- is an efficient person who has been helping me maintain my Scorpios'(two of them) doors, pads, bumpers, cladding, dashboard etc perfect & noiseless from last 7 years was ready with to start the "DIT".
The Xylo's dead pedal was ready and we got on to design an support system for the pedal. Hari felt that a good strong flat iron rod bent properly and screwed to the base with good rubber padding would be sufficient and strong. I will let the photo's do the talking and the final product was well finished and accomplished the purpose- of providing foot support, which was much needed for me.

My special thanks to ASC's Devendar, Subbarayudu & Hari who came up with some self creative design which is strong and executed with finesse to my satisfaction.

Nice addition you've got there. But, I really doubt whether one would be able to keep their feet on the dead pedal without touching the clutch with the foot.

Yes, the gap b/w the clutch pedal and the dead pedal seems to be very small.

I guess the angle at which 3rd pic was taken would not be good enough to decide on the gap between clutch and dead pedal.

As far as it gives your foot a comfort, the DIY is a success.

Excellent! Been toying with the idea for quite some time, but not getting the time to get around to doing it. Definitely a must-have.

That was a excellent addition to the Scorpio, lot of members in our forum need this badly and they miss this as a OE.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Even Santro came with a OE dead pedal, in my starting days when i used the car I remember i asked the service advisor to remove the dead pedal as my shoe gets jammed in between the clutch pedal and dead pedal. However he said its manufactured as such and it cannot be removed and if we still do so it would not look nice moreover he said it will help in long journeys. So i left it as it is, after few long journey's I recollected that service advisor gave a good suggestion and i am happy with dead pedal. Luckily all my cars after that came with dead pedal.
