Re: Car Vacuum Cleaner

1. Does the Black and Decker ACV1205 have a way to run off a 240v supply. Is there an adapter I can use? Would be really useful for a little home use too!
2. I have a Miele Home vacuum cleaner that I can use for my car, but don't have a 240v supply in my car park. Will one of those power inverters that converts the car DC to 240v AC. Will this damage or drain the car battery or electrical.

This is the unit I've selected by the way: http://www.flipkart.com/black-decker...3-16ec99ca612a

Hi Red Liner,

Kindly check whether the Belkin adapter you have supports 800W. I presume it is an inverter, if so to my knowledge, the max wattage it will support is 400W and that too at its peak. The B&D Vac mentioned supposedly runs on 220V AC wired power supply at 800W, You may be able to get the volts stepped up to 220V with the Belkin but not adequate power required (800W) to run it.

Cheers,
Ganzkart

I found it easier to use a brush and get the dirt out.

Re: Car Vacuum Cleaner

Last week purchased B&D ACV1205 from Flipkart. Price was Rs.2114/-.
Tried it today and it did a good job of pulling out dirt and sand from floor felt lining.

This is very interesting. How is the vacuum cleaner working now. It is almost a year. Is it trouble free?

Coido 6132 vacuum cleaner

I recently bought the Coido 6132 vacuum cleaner. Ordered it from Snapdeal for 649, there was a discount offer.

The car vac draws power from the 12 V outlet. It is powerful enough to extract dust, sand, hairs, food particles from the car floor. It does the job quite well and quickly. Operation is not very noisy. Deep seated dust in the car mats have to be agitated and loosened with a brush, this step won't be necessary if vacuuming is done regularly. The crevice tool is good to get the dirt out from the hard to reach areas, but it should have been longer ideally. I could not get the crevice tool all the way to the carpet around the parking brake console. This carvac is also supposed to draw wet dust but I haven't tried that yet.

The body is in black and looks sleek. There is even a chamber to store the power cord. Very neat! Doesn't look cheap but parts like the power button and the switch to unlock the front chamber are not of great quality and I am concerned about their durability.

A very useful product at a good price. Makes cleaning job easy. I don't have to take the floor mats out every time for cleaning, I simply vacuum them. A big time saver! Pleased with the purchase. Only I hope it lasts long enough.

Re: Car Vacuum Cleaner

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I see a new B&D model available on amazon and flipkart. Am planning to buy that. Any reviews?

I really need a car vacum cleaner as getting a plug point closer to the car is not going to be easy in my building.

Re: Car Vacuum Cleaner

I checked for reviews across forums and online market places and finally bought this B&D model:

http://www.snapdeal.com/product/black-decker-adv1220-12vdc-auto/263214456#bcrumbSearch:|bcrumbLabelId:313

Its more expensive than the Chinese ones and about 30-40% more expensive than the other B&D models, but boy what a good job it does. I was a bit cynical while placing the order, but since it does not cost a hand and a leg, I decided to go ahead. I got delivery of the same on Saturday and tried it out the same day. Its really done an excellent job and I can vouch for this one.

Hi. I am planning to buy a car vacuum cleaner but I am confused between the ADV 1220 and the ACV 1205. While going through the reviews of the ACV 1205 I feel that its a bit underpowered. How about your experience with the ADV 1220. Also did the accessories decrease the suction or not.

Thanks in advance!!

I used the 1220 with the accessories and they are quite good. Just use the brush a bit to dislodge the dirt and it will be easily scooped up with the tube attachment.

If you do decide, buy it from PayTM instead. Rs875 after cashback.

Thanks.
I picked it up. I am not sure if the inflating part will work, but the vacuum was desperately needed after a horrible expereince last weekend with a home vacuum, 30 meters of electric wire, and a wet lawn between the car and the socket.

Do let me know how you liked it, I'm curious to see if it works as advertised.
