Its good to know you car was amongst the fastest cars on the track or the fastest, it will be good to know how many such events the engine is able to perform consistently, that will be a good measure to gauge the durability of the build.

Now this brings me to ask you, what were your times when you were driving it and also how many kms have you driven the car after the modifications done on it.
I have no doubts on the durability of the build, I have clocked many KMs on it now and that is off full 8000 REVs every time, the engine is holding strong and the car runs perfectly. I was not driving car because of an injury, but my younger brother drove and clocked a best time of 3 minute 11 seconds. The engine has been in the car for almost a year now.

First of all , congrats on the build and yes , I am totally hooked to this thread !

This clearly shows what Honda engines are capable off and I'm sure this will be durable too.

Re: My Quest for a "FAST" car!! B16 Honda City

Long Time I havent updated this thread, Anyways

Post the Track Day, we opened the engine and decided the rebuild it since the same was pending for a long time. I had the full Cometic top and bottom rebuild kit, so rebuilding it was not a issue. The stock valves and valves springs were replaced by Brain Crower SS valves and titanium springs and we changed the stock cams to Brain crower cams as well.

I just completed the first 1000 KMs of running in and send the car back to phil for an oil change and retune. The clutch was also changed to a ACT 6 Puck clutch. Now everything seems ready to go Turbo-Charging

New Goodies for the car include a Skunk2 Mega Power muffler, some Autometer gauges. The fuel rail was upgraded to an AEM High Flow Billet rail. Upgraded Fuel Pump and Injectors are with me which I will install during the turbo process. A fuel pressure regulator will go in right now.

Wow Manan never knew you had further plans up your sleeves with the B-16 Is it not good enough that it beats the crap out of some "very expensive" metal ?

Kudos to your spirit & the unflinching perseverance with which this "reliable" build is being put together !!

Nice pics you posted - especially the last one !! ;-)

Cheers

Older wheels also looked nice but these wheels are much much lighter compared to those hence the switch.

2. Supertech Blockgaurd
3. ARP Head bolts and main studs
4. AEM High Pressure fuel rail
5. Bigger injectors
6. Titanium Valve springs retainers
7. Stainless steel valves
8. Fuel Pump
9. Bigger Throttle body
10. New clutch

Some pictures attached.
Ditch the Block guard, If you going for low comp pistons, better get 81.5mm and get bore/hone done from a reputed turner. Sleeving will be better option from Darton.

Re: My Quest for a "FAST" car!! B16 Honda City

So what does it look like on the new Enkei's m4ugr8? It's been a while!

Are you upgrading the tires as well? Let's hear the specs please.

I've always ha a soft-spot for gold / bronze'd wheels.

I have low comp pistons with 81.5mm bore. Once those pistons and rods go in, I do plan to sleeve the block. Lets see how it progresses, as of now the turbo plans are on a hold. Why do you say I should ditch the block guard ??

Also on your build what engine management were you using and did you use any traction control module ?? I believe after Turbo charging putting the power down becomes a issue ??

Thanks, The rims will go on after the car is painted. The gold rims do look fantastic and I understand your liking Even I am a fan.

Re: My Quest for a "FAST" car!! B16 Honda City

Help me out guys.....

Installed a B16A on my OHC and its run for approx 2000kms. Had replaced the rings at the time of install.
However the engine has started showing out problems now
Symptoms :
1) Smoke from the exhaust
2) Engine misfiring due to oil leaking in 2 of the cylinder plugs
3) Engine compression ranges from 140-200 in all 4 cylinders

Could this issue be sorted by just replacing the piston rings or would need to change the pistons as well.
Would not prefer to overhaul the internals if given an option.
