Ok. Does Ford specify ACEA, API specs or both?

Ford WSS-M2C917C/D or A5/B5 as an alternate. The WSS-M2C917C/D spec is only available in Mobil Super 3000 X1 5w30, in the open market, but A5/B5 5w30 works well enough.

Please check several past posts on this very thread? Or the Hyundai website / your car manual?

After that it is a simple matter of searching Amazon or your local lube store for the right grade

Re: ARTICLE: Synthetic oil vs Mineral oil

I checked on Hyundai website and it shows 5w30 API SM as the recommended grade. I searched on Amazon and Mobil 1 esp 5w30 is the only fully synthetic oil which comes with SM rating, but it's cost is above 4000 for 4 litres

So look at the 5w30 requirements for slightly newer Hyundais it is a3b4 5w30

Get shell helix taxi - despite the name it is a good oil. Or shell hx8. Both are 5w30.

Anyone have experience with Mannol oils? I see them on Amazon these days and they even have a 0w16 option that is API SP. Quite expensive too.

Re: ARTICLE: Synthetic oil vs Mineral oil

I own a 2015 Hyundai Elite i20(Petrol) which has run 28k kms. Based on recommendations in this thread, I tried to source Shell Helix HX8 5W-30, but could not find it in Hyderabad. Drove down to Shell outlet in Habsiguda, but it was out of stock there as well. Does anyone know where I can source it from in Hyderabad? I am trying to avoid buying it online as I have doubts about the authenticity.
Is there any good alternative to the Shell HX8?

Shell Helix Taxi is also good and the same grade. HX8 is phased out now

I have tried for Helix Taxi as well, but was not available at all the places I tried. Any other alternative?

It is slightly the wrong rating and weight but your older Hyundai engines will happily run on parachute coconut oil, if that doesn’t sound like a good idea just get shell helix ultra 5w40 and enjoy life.

Re: ARTICLE: Synthetic oil vs Mineral oil

Is this suitable for elite I20?. It meets API SN, ACEA A5/B5. Also attaching the screenshot of i20's owners manual

What viscosity is mentioned in the manual? API and ACEA are only classifications. You need to ensure the oil meets viscosity requirements too. It should be either xW-30, xW-40 for synthetic or mineral oil. This parameter is more important than the API/ACEA label.

Yes! Go ahead. Excellent choice though very expensive, just get their signature series instead
