Go ahead and try the EDGE,Rohan.
You can't go wrong with Castrol or/and Synthetic.

@ Aditya, any oil is Ok as long as its good and new..not dirty! We really dont require synthetic oils if we do regular oil changes [read as every 5K kms]

I think id' agree with Jaggu on all the other points stated!

Thats good have been using it for 8000 kms already and found it a liitle better than magnatec. Am not in a position to compare it with any other oil though.

I just got my Petra serviced after 21k km. Apart from the regular checks and filter changes, I got the engine oil changed to Synthetic. Got Mobil 1 0W40. The engine has got slightly quieter, and therefore, the urge to rev is that much more. It is feeling very smooth now. Got it from Shaman. I don't remember the exact price, since they gave me various credits for excess amounts charged earlier, as a result of which, the total amount I paid was less than the cost of the oil.

prabuddhadg, since you chose 0W40, I'll recommend you to keep checking your oil levels. We got about 1400 ml of oil out of a friends car before he decided not to go for that grade. He now used 5W50 in his GTX and has no oil losses.

I have got about half a litre of the oil with me. I shall check every week. BTW, Shaman recommended 0W40. Its a Petra 1.6.

Thats probably cos its the only grade he's got. I was also suggested to go for that but 0Wxx is too thin for a tropical city like mumbai or chennai. Oil loss is significantly higher.

Trying to get 10wxx or 15wxx Mobil1 or Shell Helix Ultra. Gotta change the oil this Sat.

The only fully-synthetic I knew was the Shell Helix Ultra 15W50 which has been replaced all over Asia-Pacific by Helix Ultra 5W-40.
So, if u're getting synthetic, it's gotta be 5Wxx.

But isnt 5Wxx too thin for chennai? Would the oil level decrease requiring constant top up?

Can you please tell me the address/Phone number in Pune

When on Sachapir street keep driving straight towards Nana Peth till you see a Bajaj / Honda spare parts dealer on your left. This is the shop that sells Shell oils. Shrivz told me about this place. See my signature for further details.

We have a few hundred guys running 5W oil in Chennai happily.
Moreover, these are the same grades used in Dubai and the middle eastern countries.
So,stop tripping and relax.

@ Eddy - Try Batra Auto-next to Ashram Flyover. He did have Delvac last time I was there...Also you can try Khan market Auto Market or Sec-16 Noida.
