This one is for all Formula One fans. For the first time, Hyderabad will play host to the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team, who will be bringing their Formula One car to Hyderabad, for the Red Bull F1 Showrun.

David Coulthard, 13-time Grand Prix winner, will drive the car on 5th April, 2015, at the Hussain Sagar Lake, Hyderabad. The showrun will give fans and enthusiasts a chance to witness the car up close.

Previously, David Coulthard had treated Mumbaikars with a great show at the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai in 2009. In 2011, Infiniti Red Bull Racing team set a world record, when Neel Jani drove an Formula One car on the highest motorable road in Kardung-la, Kashmir at 18,300 feet. In the same year, Daniel Ricciardo pleased the crowds with the F1 car at Rajpath in Delhi.

DC's last show in Mumbai was spectacular. Just don't expect the same sweet exhaust note as today's F1 engines are a tamer breed

It might be recollected that Mumbai cops were peeved off with Coulthard for exceeding the Sealink's speed limit

I'm guessing they'll have one of the V8 demo cars for this run. Not the new V6.

I urge everyone with even the slightest interest in cars/motorsport to go and watch this. The sounds and atmosphere will be magic. When you feel those gearshifts hit your chest. Best feeling ever

Those who've been to the Mumbai or Delhi event please suggest if there is anything specific like ear-plugs that we need to carry with us while going to the event. They don't seem to be mentioning anything but just wanted to see based on past experience if it is better to carry them.

Anyone has any additional pointers regarding the places around the venue where we can watch and possibly any info on potential places to park?

I guess this would be a good chance for someone to test a noise-cancelling headphone!

It's just one car in an open area. Ear plugs definitely not needed. The car is still very loud but it won't be there long enough to hurt the ears.

Try to stand in a spot where he may do donuts or where he would probably have the fastest fly by.

And reach early. You want the front row to enjoy the view

Lithuanian stunt rider - Aras Gibieza, will perform the opening act on April 05, 2015. The two-time European stunt riding champion will entertain the crowds by performing some daredevil acts on his motorcycle, before they witness the F1 car.

Any other BHPians in Hyderabad planning to go?

Any idea regarding options for parking there? Since there is very minimal information available, I'm not sure which part of the road would be closed down. Or, would it be better to take MMTS and get down at Necklace Road station?

Hi zenren - I might make it (depending upon the 'weather' at home ).

I am surprised about the lack of information about this event. I haven't seen any hoarding/advertisement about it. Don't know where exactly this event will be held. MMTS is a good option, but what if the event is held on the main road (where the army tank is/was present). It'll be quite a walk from the MMTS station to that road...

If it is held near Mariott, then James Street is the closest MMTS station. Necklace Road station is too far from there.

If on a vehicle, t might be a good idea to park in the open area near Buddha Bhavan, close to where Necklace Road merges with the Tank Bund road

The event starts at 9 AM and will continue till noon.
I am not sure what will be going on for such a long time.

There is very less awareness about this event...hardly anyone is aware of it.

It is better to go on 2 wheels and park somewhere close by and walk to Tank bund to watch DC burn rubber. Most likely the parking will be at Lumbini Laser Parking.

I will be positively there as my son has been dreaming to see F1 car.
We could even meet early and do a breakfast if other T-Bhpians are in.

otherwise, it's going to be really tough in this heat.

It seems like parking will be a mess.. better to get 2 wheels.
