Video: BMW ///M Driver Training at the Buddh International Circuit!

Few weeks back i had the opportunity to be a part of the BMW M Driver training at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida.

This video is a shortened version of an entire day's training from BMW expert trainers who had specially flew in from Malaysia for this.

The training includes, Drifting lessons;

VIDEO: BMW ///M Driver Training at the Buddh International Circuit !

Awesome experience you had Karan. Thanks for capturing it for us. The exhaust note on the straight stretches is pure aural bliss. Wonder how the E60 M5 with the V10 would sound.

I don't see an M5's, were they not present or did I miss seeing them ?

So what would be your pick among the ///M cars if you had to replace your 328i with one?

Thanks Denzil, well the aural drama is partly because of the ACTIVE SOUND which made the M3/4 sound really good in cabin.

Comparatively the M6 GC was anyway aggressive with its V8.

No M5 as its an old product hence they dont want to market it.

I'd pick the M4 from the current lot of cars we drove to replace the the 328i, but that may not happen soon hence probably the next gen G30 M5 or the upcoming G20 based M3/4 should be it.

Great video as always Karan. But you missed out the timed section, was it because you didn't win?

Quite a predictable comment by you Akshay. Well so what you were faster, i was better at drifting & lane change (without dropping any cones anytime). Also in that timed section, we both were driving in manual mode if you remember correctly & during my turn i got a mis shift so you got faster by a second, but in the end good that a BHPian won it & we all had fun

Saw some pictures on Facebook with a car toppled over on inside of turn 10 during BMW invite drive? Any inputs on that?

This picture is what I was referring to

This was not on our day of the driver training nor the next day. This happened i believe 2 days later when the dealerships had invited prospective customers @ BIC.

Thats a 320D on its roof!

Will hitting the gravel @ speed actually turn a low center of gravity car like the F30 turtle?

That water bottle said a lot about the acceleration of that beast...

And I bet Roland's lap time was better than your's

What would it cost to take your own car out for a track day at the BIC?

Look at the 530d on the limit here

Some idiot thought the 320d have the same grip level as an M3. They forgot that the tighter suspension, cabon fibre panels etc. change the whole equation

What you might thnk as great on the road does not always pan out as a track car as many Honda City drivers will testify!

My 2p worth on driving on a race track. In addition to helmets I would prefer to drive a car that has a proper roll cage. Yes, it does mess up the interior of the car, but then, it goes a long way to ensure the safety of the driver inside. A few other safety items are, a 5 point harness, fire extinguisher and an electrical master cut off switch.

Had a lot of fun with you guys. The banter for the timed run was gold.

Doesn't matter which car. When you enter a foot deep soft gravel sideways you will turtle. That driver completely acted on his own and didn't follow the instructors. Thankfully no one got hurt. And exactly why we make everyone wear helmets

Oh hey, good to see you on team bhp man! Quite a surprise, have seen your posts here but had no clue it was you. Wish you had mentioned it that day on track itself. You will be able to answer who was better at the lane change
