Force India F1 team has launched F1 Academy aimed at hunting for Indian racing talents and provide a well funded platform to move into the international motorsports.clap:

Before you get your hopes up, this program is intended for people between the ages of 14-17.

Great initiative. Moving straight to formula cars is tough and world over more acceptable path is to move from karting to smaller cars and then formula cars.

Truly a great initiative. Wish such things were available when we were in our teens.
This will certainly help identify, develop and guide young talent into making a successful career in motorsport.

This was launched by Force India in Mallya's hunt for an Indian driver worthy of F1. But I don't think Mallya is going to get his drivers by doing this. Mere motorsport drivers, maybe, but F1 drivers, No.
To Make a career out of motorsport a person needs to not only be an enthusiast but also convert it to his daily bread.
Focus, Confidence, Skill, a large bank account and Luck are part and parcel of the foundations of Motorsport, like it or not.

Anyways that's just me. But of course there should be a base somewhere, so good going Mallya. Please make it a serious permanent academy if at all.
