Yes, I did go for the Fz,
and, if the thread is really too long, Please consider having TDs of all bikes in question!

Thanks,

Ace.

Re: Which 150/180CC Bike??? Mumbai Traffic

Hey Thumpmeister,

Thank you,

It would be wrong to say that I have issues with the bike, rather it is the comparison with other bikes I am doing here.

I have been riding bikes since 1995.

As far as your requirement I have outlined the details.

Right now I stay in Navi Mumbai near Palm beach road , so riding this bike in open roads is a pleasure.

Once you are in traffic then your problem starts, like your wrist pain due to constant clutch use and the poor rear braking. If you totally rely on the front disc brake then that can be fatal at times, there is a huge chance of skidding on concrete roads.

For suspension do a simple test on any bike as follows.
put the bike on main stand
Press the bike downward from behind and see how hard it is.

This will only give the estimate of the spring hardness but will give you a fair idea of how hard the suspension build is.

If you are coming down to Navi Mumbai you can meet me in my office and we can discuss in detail.

This bike would be the best if some parameters are corrected.

The most important I feel are as follows from top to bottom.
1 - Suspension
2 - Rear Brake
3 - Saddle Height
4 - Head Light
5 - Digital console angle - During 3 - 4 PM drive the sunlight comes onto your face
6 - Remove the annoying noise during cooldown
7 - Better paint quality for the chasis

Hey Allaudin, thnx for the invite and taking the trouble do detail the issues/tests to be done. I think I will finally make the choice between the GS150, Pulsar and Apache. I love the FZ's looks but for the cost involved, it just ain't exciting enough and the FE is nothing to crave for.

Re: Which 150/180CC Bike??? Mumbai Traffic

Have kind of short listed the Pulsar 150 (always a Bajaj fan) and GS 150 R, still wanna take a Test Ride of the Apache 160 just to have a peace of my mind. GS 150 felt a bit heavy for my kind of riding as I need a bike which I can flick easily in traffic.

Flickability is the forte of the RTR series of bikes. Light, nimble and handle very well. You might come out impressed with the TD of the RTR. The P150 though has improved by leaps and bounds, they are not good handlers and feel bulky and front heavy from the word go.

All the best with the TD of the RTR!!
