Bajaj has made it clear that their next launch for this year is the Kawasaki Ninja 650r, followed by the new platform Pulsar 200 and Pulsar 250. (Which would share components / platform with the KTM 125 / 200 ). Also, KTM 125/ 200 would be launched as a premium bike.

Where did a 500 come in, all of a sudden!

Advertisements seem to have started for Ninja 650r though!
Thank you for this information.
It may be a Ninja 650.
I will check that ad carefully, if it comes again on TV.

Well if you compare a 160cc apache to a 180 cc Pulsar then it is right about what you said...try riding an apache 180 vs pulsar 180 on a street race with fair amount of curves and straight stretches and then we can talk if who is more efficient overall...And you need a good ride to compliment a good rider..Pulsar never. comes Close. after all it is so Grose
inferior plastics..poor headlamps (except 220 i love them).braking..whats the use of all this power if other things around it are falling apart.

re: *Rumour* : 500cc Pulsar + Upcoming New Pulsar twins

kindly don't make it a Pulsar v/s Apache thread.
We should discuss on Pulsar 500 only.
Otherwise this will attract Mods attention.

re: *Rumour* : 500cc Pulsar + Upcoming New Pulsar twins

Driving licenses in India are meant for low powered (< 10bhp) 100c bikes.

A person who qualifies for such a license may not actually be capable of riding a higher powered bike. In my view, ideally, it should carry a separate license.

Of course in India, implementing it would be a farce, since almost 100% of riding/driving population obtain their license based on how fast you pass the bundle to RTO.

Are you talking about the new Bajaj Pulsar 'Hunto' ad in which they are targeting Japanese 2-wheeler makers (read Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki).

check out the you tube link of 'Hunto' ad

if it is not so then i'm very excited about the new Pulsar 500. after owning a P220 SF i will happily move to new P500

re: *Rumour* : 500cc Pulsar + Upcoming New Pulsar twins

This is ridiculous news... I do not understand how is this possible, unless the engine is sourced from Kawasaki (like Fiat's diesel engines that powers 2 out of 3 cars in India).

I understand that Bajaj is going to revamp the Pulsar line-up by the end of the year, & probably at that time, the P250 will be launched, but, P500 is simply out of question. IMO even if they are going to make the P500 out of 2 P250 blocks (i.e. a 2 cylinder Pulsar), they do not have the chassis for ~50 bhp that the bike will produce.

The present chassis for P220 (different from P150/180) is good enough (I have test driven the P220 & I am a owner of P150, 2006 make), but not good enough for the powerful 500cc motor.

This is poorer news than Honda City Diesel in the Indian Cars section & auto journalism at its worst.

I agree that a separate license should be allotted to 100+cc bike riders. However, I think the issue is also because the guy who conducts the test for the license hardly verifies that the person can/ cannot handle the vehicle well. Apart from the passing bundles bit (IMHO take the bundles but at least do the work correctly )

Pulsar 350, 500???... Its like releasing Dhoom 10,11,12.... . It goes on, and on, and on.. Same theme (platform) et al.

Bajaj seriously needs to come up with something new.

@praful: Agree with you man, people on this forum have developed an uncanny habit of bad mouthing Bajaj, they should not forget that if it were not for Bajaj, this entire range of 150cc+ bikes wouldnt have evolved.. and Pulsars are anytime more fun to ride than the sedate HH & Hondas.. the play it safe bike makers..

No, you can jump off that cliff now.

With the Kawasaki models available. Bajaj would be seriously lacking vision if they start developing big bikes from scratch.

Another rumor I believe.

And whoever made those slides has a convulsive sense of humor.

re: *Rumour* : 500cc Pulsar + Upcoming New Pulsar twins

Seen in some biking forum that the 650 is getting launched first week of June and cost also they are guessing that it will be 30-50K cheaper than present 250 Ninjas, not sure how and bikes will be completely imported from Thailand.
