Re: "Hero Honda" to become "Hero MotoCorp Ltd."

Did anybody notice the teaser board near the boudary, in the ongoing cricket match between India and England?
It says something like 'the hero is coming soon' with indian flag colours at the edges.

Re: "Hero Honda" to become "Hero MotoCorp Ltd."

It is now officially Hero MotoCorp. The website is updated.

Hero MotoCorp

I also saw a few showrooms displaying this change.

Err, Hero MotoCorp CBZ-Xtreme, Hero MotoCorp Hunk, I can't get the 'Honda' tag out of my mind

I hope they have some sushi (japs) for snacks in due course. I am sure they will be feasting on pasta (Italians) soon. It will take some time to set up R&D and they may not be interested in buying technology from the Land of the Rising Sun for long. Italian firms are high tech, small and financially always hard pressed.

Re: "Hero Honda" to become "Hero MotoCorp Ltd."

Hero Moto sounds very much similar to the Motorola mobile phone catchword Hello Moto.

I hope changing the name does bring them the same glory minus the Honda association.

But on the contrary, buyers of my generation were very aware of Honda and were prepared to pay for half a Honda, where we would have surely declined a full Hero - makers of mere bicycles and Hero Majestic mopeds at that time!

Always remember the old HH tag line "It is the Honda in it that makes it a Hero" - it was true in every sense.

But a quarter century has passed since then, the current generation is not aware of the Majestic moped, so hero can probably start with a clean slate.

Their new website is lacking a logo..hope they are still thinking of what should be it.

BTW, the new name doesnt sound good. Me thinking in the lines of Chennai Corp-oration.

Its going to be very interesting watching them make this transformation. I personally think that they won't make it. The Munjals have gotten too cocky and have lost the plot if you ask me.

They need to get the right advice on the rebadging of products, the product mix for the future etc.

Re: "Hero Honda" to become "Hero MotoCorp Ltd."

I for one don't like the length of their advertisement on TV and the ad is on the first page of almost all national and daily newspapers.

They are supposedly coming up with an off-road Motorcycle and as per various reports, it is a half-hearted attempt.

It will be interesting to see as to what new launches they bring to the table. And will it be as reliable as their Honda counter-part? Well, we all know the answer, though a pleasant surprise won't hurt.

The attitude reflected via their advertisement seems to be the same. Its nothing about Motorcycles, is it? My best wishes to Hero Moto Corp.

Re: "Hero Honda" to become "Hero MotoCorp Ltd."

I think they are on the right note. The ad is long but shows what they want to convey..."hum mein hain hero". Over some time, the ad would get shorter.

Besides, they have time till 2014

The ad is long but honestly I had goosebumps when I saw the ad for the first time. I am not a raving fan of HH but the ad was sure catchy. Now lets hope HMC does develop their R&D and come out with bikes/scooters that are not Splendors/CBZ (i.e. 100/150) in different looks. Wish them all the best.

its been this way with HH, now HMC(?)

Remember the Dhak dhak go thingummy?
they start off with movies, but slowly taper off into 30 second promos out of the same content.
