I personally wouldn't venture into this idea. Am sure the laptop can be placed in an area where it is not prone to shocks easily but since I haven't seen the inside of the bag, will let Santosh confirm on it.

BTW, IIRC the Cortech is not waterproof. Santosh covers the bag with an additional plastic cover. And I guess Rjays is waterproof, atleast thats what Adi told me.

Like I said before, I personally would not like the idea. Check with Santosh. Since you are in Bangalore, why don't you see the bags in person. Should give you a realistic idea.

Hard drives in laptops are generally prone to be the major cause for a laptop to break down as there are quite a lot of mechanical parts involved in it. However if you have the latest laptop which has Solid State Hard drive then it makes sense to use this tail bag.
Suggest buying a good shoulder bag should augur well.

A hard disk can take a 1000G of shock when not running. It'll be fine even if you throw it off a cliff and the external shell is not damaged due to the fall.

agree: But if its an IBM ThinkPad provided by corporates, then it has some feature to protect the HDD heads when its being moved around. This works both when the laptop is on/off. Not sure if its available in the ThinkPads sold commercially as well. If its one of these laptops, then the tail bag should be just fine albeit at a minor risk always.
At the end of the day, nothing to beat a good water proof shoulder bag.

Gave my ride to the showroom. Can anybody confirm that the radiator is an external part which is not covered under warranty ?, which i find it very disturbing. However my ride in the service center, will update by evening probably, on their solution.

It cannot hold a laptop, even a small one. If you need to carry office stuff, look elsewhere. The space available in Rjays is good with many pockets (a detachable waist pouch too) and there are many options to tie it on the bike; but it is vertical in construction which does not hold good for laptop. With expanded mode, it can hold stuff for a 2-3 day trip. Aditya has provided details of the stuff he carried in his Ninja thread.

The quality of Rjays is very good.

It is early to comment on signs of fade/ age. As of now, the bike is holding well eventhough I do not wash it regularly; my usage is weekend rides only.

Yes, I also have similar feedback. The bike cruises comfortably even when doing 100+ and with the trottle twisted nothing more than 40-50% without any vibrations. Still better, she doesn't seem stressed even after doing so for more than an hour or two.

Anything above 130+ (with 60% twist -- without redlining) and she takes her own sweet time to climb slowly and gradually.

It might be an external part and not under warranty. But still, if the damage has been caused by the A.S.S. folks, I think that they should be the ones to bear the cost of it.

While we give the bikes on our responsibility, if the damage caused is due to untrained and inexperience staff - It should be borne by them. We are not supposed to be guinea pigs simply because we bought the bike in initial lots.

Do keep us posted on what happens. And do put this point across.

With regards to cruising capabilities of the bike, I am in love with the way she (CBR) cruises along in triple digits. It's making those long highway rides so much more interesting and exciting.

Along with the price, CBR's exhaust note below 5K made me rotate my head in that direction in search of a bigger bike and I found the CBR cruising by.

I still find CBR uninspiring to look at, atleast from the front. Haven't taken a ride too. But now, I can't seem to wait much long, if the silver doesn't come by, by the 10th of October, I would pick up whatever is available off the shelf.
