Correct. You have to see Bose Sir's bike to believe it. Awesome doesn't begin to cover it.

I have given the OP's question a lot more thought, and I still think it makes sense to get the Classic 500 in his case. For someone who wants to ride occasionally, and can afford it, the Classic 500 has both the performance and the pretty looks to reserve a place in any garage.

Its a duro tyre, dimensions are 110/90-19 , i love its grip.

@NST440 - Can you tell me whether we also get Duro tyres regularly in Tyre shops or do I need to find a specific supplier? I am based out of Pune, so anyone else knows whether there are any dealers for Duro tyres in Pune?

I agree completely.
I'm replacing the 19 inchers on my CI Std 350 with the Classic's drum/18 inch rims/spokes. I have heard from a very reputed source that the handling improvement is reason enough to switch. Now if only the darn things were tubeless, life would be so much easier.

@Sriku - Do you have any idea how much does the whole 18 inch set cost?

Duro Tyres are available at all vendors who deal in imported tire companies like yokohamas and michelins, usually you can find a seller ,in case you dont , just let me know, ill ask mine to find one near your vicinity.

Today i went to inquire about my booked CL 500(green) it is still in waiting for the next 15 days max. they promised, anyways i asked the mechanic about fitting the CL 18 inch tyres and rims where he quoted the price of both front and rear to be around 7-8Ks(both rim and tyres), but he broke my heart by saying that there is a need to replace the shockers too as the original CL rims comes with disc brakes, the shockers would cost around another 6-7 k, labour charges extra:Frustrati.

@NST440 - Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to change it to 18's because you dont get many choices on the 19's. Therefore I just wanted to change the rear ones so I can get wider/stickier tyres in 18 inch size. I will check with a dealer near by and find the price just for the rear ones.

Thanks again.

You do not need to replace the shocks as the disk can be fitted on the same shocks that you have.

Well that sounds nice, may be the RE guys dont know this or they want me to shell out more deliberately.
Pls. help me on one more concern, if i fit the 18 inch rims, can & should i paint them in black metallic colour, will that look good, its just a thought which i am not very confident of.

i think that your bike would look good with the crome wheels
