KTM 200 launched @ Malaysia

I know its a street bike but i would have loved to have a dual-purpose bike! modding fenders, shocks, raising the over all height...just too much expense! :(

KTM Duke 200 has been spoted & (flash) ridden by a (ZMA) biker in Pune, who came out satisfied with the short ride he had on the bike. Here is the link to ICB report on the same:

Here are the summary of the report:
1. Power around 28 BHP (that's gross, & real world figures could be around 24 BHP);
2. Price could be around Rs.1.4 lakhs (though the cost of the prototypes is around Rs.1.6 lakhs);
3. Engine note is like bigger Pulsars with FFE;
4. There power at tap right from the word go;
5. There could be small under seat storage area (slightly bigger than anything on Indian bikes);
6. The bike could be equipped with DRLs; &
7. It could be launched before the Auto Expo 2012, as Bajaj is not keen on participating (rather sharing limelight with others for a new premium product).

KTM 200 Duke being reviewed by Zig wheels. Spoke to the journalists and their initial impression is very good. They spoke highly about the acceleration and handling prowess of the bike.

KTM Duke 200 review, test ride - Review - Autocar India
looks very promising, 25 bhp, kerb weight of 137kg, performance should be exciting, and Dukes are known to be great handlers on and off road. Could position it as a all-rounder, and not just as a sports (road) bike.

if it is priced 10-15%lesser than CBR it is a very good buy. My guess is that it will be priced very much like the CBR. Looking forward to the launch. This bike holds more promise than the r15, at least for me.

Even at the 135 kmph most mags are reporting, the top end is disappointing.

More disappointing is the news that the KTM 350 may really not be on the anvil at all.

The "350" we are hearing about is more likely a Pulsar 350.

I was so looking forward to adding a KTM to my Bullet 500 ....
