Restore compression in Enfield

Guys,I met with a minor accedent last week from my Electra 5s.I hit a dog on wet road, which resulted in braking of gear lever, foot rest bend and LHS mirror broke.I drew the bike home immediatly after accident. After a week, today,I tried to start it.Kicker is having less load. But it is not completely free.Any Idea, how to get it running? To add,Self is not running(hope because of long time no start).Any help is greatly appreciated.I tried adjusting decomp cable etc.
I feel it has lost some compression.Does push starting will do the job?

Re: Restore compression in Enfield

I hope the dog is fine.

Check the play in the clutch cable.
If clutch is engaged then the starter feels like its got less or no load.

Why don't you take the bike to the nearest mechanic.

I got lot of scratches over my body, (lost lot of 'company paint' from my body ) . Today I wanted to take it to get its Disk brake checked. The same day of accedent I had changed the disc pads.I think it didnt work well. For anything I need to get the bike started.

White rabbit,

Please take it to a good mechanic. I think its tough to speculate what the problem could be.

Do let us know what the problem was though.

a) As you saw the dog only once, how sure are you he is fine?
b) "lost lot of 'company paint' from my body" - Priceless

Re: Restore compression in Enfield

Guys,I started it.I calledup one of my friend(who is a bullet mechanic, but not authorized.Got good knowledge on bulls). The asked me to push start it.My physical condition doesnot allow me to do that.
He said, this happens some time when there is a low compression bulds up(due to cold wether and no warm up.).Once started,it will emit some smoke and carbon. He advice to add some 2T oil in petrol tank(5-10 ml to a full tank).Instead of push start,I kept on kicking and kicking, applied some time self also.Slowly I could make out kicker load increasing, and Yeah!!It started up.I let it for Idling for some time then switched off,As i was getting late for office.
