Re: Hero Honda Hunk - Technical Specifications & Feature List

I think that the Hunk also has a rear disk brake arrangement, can you add that to the chart too
Appreciate the work done to enlighten others but can all these data sheets be put in a separate thread;instead of segregating them into individual threads?

This data will be transferred to an interactive website section (portal) by mods once the process is complete.

Exactly. why need separate threads for bikes of one origin- manufacturer wise or engine wise. I think a Single thread per manufacturer is good enough unless for iconic machines. & a standardized format shall make it easier for cross reference.
just my 2p. cheers!

The reason of separate thread is like this -

The user/member/guest could select the technical specifications & features of any brand and bike from the interactive section.

Re: Hero Honda Hunk - Technical Specifications & Feature List

Hi All,

I am facing a few issues with my bike recently.
1. The bike vibrates a lot, may what speeds you are doing
2. The front wheel seems not so free-rotating.
(mechanic says will have to replace the entire disc brake assemble except for the disk)
3. Brakes are not very effective, especially the front disk. (rear is a drum)

Its a Oct 2010 HH Hunk, almost done 75-80k kms.
The bike was not used for the past 5-6 months.
Haven't done any engine work till now.
Replace the oil every 6 months.
Fuel filter has been changed recently.
Spark Plug was replaced last year.

Any help/guidance really appreciated.

Same problem on my 2010 xtreme which is sparingly used on rubbish roads in Bangalore .
It vibrates a lot , some of the plastic parts are the culprits , you can reduce the vibrations by properly tightening all the nuts , bolts fasteners and basically anything that becomes loose over a period of time . A good mechanic must be able to do it , but no one really does it including the ASCs

Check the bearing on the front wheel for wear and tear . Replace if necessary before working on the disc brakes. Replacing bearings are relatively cheaper than replacing the disc brake .

I too feel that the disc brake lack bite , most other bikes have a really sharp bite . Front disc brake on hero bikes feel very spongy after some time. Try to replace the pad and re bleed the brake fluid. If it does not improve you can change the disc brake system.

My mechanic gave me a nice idea , he said he could install Karizma 's bigger disc on the front and replace the drum brakes on the rear with a disc brake. I had seen his work on a few bikes too ,it was pretty good . It involved replacing the swing arm , I did not venture into it since the cost was high and the bike is already 4 years old.

@iamahunter ,

start with getting it serviced, particularly change the engine oil, and get the fuel filter and air filter cleaned , the idle months could have caused debris accumulation. Get the brake system bled properly, replace the fluid and the pads if worn. Don't be in a hurry to replace them yet, first ascertain if it was due to bubbles or moisture in the brake hose and fluid , use the bike for a few days and see if the braking resets to normal.
