TVS Apache Streetfighter?

Saw this picture circulating on social networking sites, is this for real or just another shot at PS?

Looks promising.

A bits in the circle looks a bit suspicious to me

Re: TVS Apache Streetfighter?

looks like a customised RTR. The front rotor looks like the aftermarket kits available in Indonesia. Lotsa mopeds/RXs run those brakes there.

Re: TVS Apache Streetfighter?

The front end has more than a passing resemblance to Yamaha's FZ-16 thanks to a missing wind-deflector and a lowered headlight-unit. Coincidence?

That said, it looks great, especially in this orange colour. I see a lot of changes. The discs up-front are so sharp, it could cut your tongue by just looking at it! And seems like the twin-shocks at the back have made way for a mono-shock setup. That should improve the RTR's already good handling. The body has been worked upon as well and it looks more chiseled and muscular now.

Doesn't look like a PS job to me. Let's hope this is a genuine product from TVS, and not a mod-job. It's pretty good for a mod-job though, might I add.

Re: TVS Apache Streetfighter?

It shouldn't be a photo shop job for sure !
Look at the brochure displayed besides the bike showing the specification/photo.

In the background it shows a soccer player I guess? Are they promoting any event ?

Interestingly RTR 1** is what visible

Re: TVS Apache Streetfighter?

Nice find Scorcher! It definitely does not look like a PS job. It is a genuine bike. As Turbokick has pointed out the brochure picture is also the same bike and it looks good too! Anyone got the specs?

I guess it's not up for the Indian market yet??

Just googled it and found the below link. It's TVS Velocity 160 Street Fighter.

Re: TVS Apache Streetfighter?

These are modded by Indonesian Modders and probably showcased by TVS.
This one is done by Insan Motors Indonesia.

Re: TVS Apache Streetfighter?

cool find. Thought the reseblence to the fz is obvious, has a good number of differences. Not a ps job for sure. Could be a custamisation option.

Re: TVS Apache Streetfighter?

Nice looking bike that is!

Hmm this might be a little off topic though, I remember watching an episode of Cafe Racer on Discovery Turbo. One of the guys created a mix of Street Fighter and Cafe Racer styled bike..but the guy was a Jap I guess?

The TVS Draken runs on 95 octane fuel and is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, produces 38.50 BHP of power at 12,000 RPM and 23 Nm of torque at 9500 RPM. The claimed mileage is 33.3 km/l.

Re: TVS Apache Streetfighter?

Seems like this will remain a concept bike. But the tech specs are quite interesting for a 250 cc with peaky power at 12000 rpm.

TVS is a luggard in launching bikes and by their past record they will takes ages to get this 250 cc to production lines.

Re: TVS Apache Streetfighter?

The bike seems good, atleast on paper. I'm sure if this is ever launched TVS would have to detune it and make sure it runs on the normal 91 octane fuel.

Quite an innovative exhaust, look where its jutting out from.

Cheers
