Wow 50 Kms to a liter? probably you are being very sedate with your right wrist. But i suppose its good for the bike till you get through the initial run-in period.

Re: The Duke Finally arrives! (KTM Duke 200)

Is the odo reading 544 kms already? Wow, that's some mile munching on day-1.

50kmpl does sound impressive. I was expecting it to deliver around 25kmpl or so.

On peering closely, I can see it is 54.4 km. 25kmpl will be too low any way for 200cc mill, am I wrong? 30 might be lowest, I think.

Looks more like 54.4 on close inspection.
Shubz excellent mileage figures. Guess you are very light on the throttle which is good for the initial run in anyways! After 500kms you can start bouncing off the revv limiter!

Hmm. Could be 54.4 on the odo. I am not able to see the decimal clearly in the pic.

25-28 kmpl is a "realistic" expectation is the bike is ridden the way it should be.

30-35 kmpl is possible with a light right fist.

163 on the Odo now. And you are right.

25-28 is a realistic expectation though it has shown up 55 kmpl. I think I need to understand the way the console calculates FE better. Current reading shows 29 kmpl

GTO - thanks for moving my thread back to the mainstream!

Shubhankar Sir,
Guess its too early stages to even bother about it. But a bit intriguing is the mislead by the Fuel meter. Was it showing 55 KMPL at all times? or was it showing only during sedate acceleration when you were coasting?

The last thing I would be concerned about will be the number before KMPL. The update was just for general knowlegde. 55 kmpl at all times? - No! It varies from time to time.

Now on my way to office, i set the console to show me the FE. At the start it was showing around 19kmpl. Thick traffic. but the FE figures kept creeping up. Was kind of stable at 38-42.

Refilled at Shell near RT nagar - and then steady ride despite traffic as it was flowing and the FE climbed to almost 57 kmpl and by the time I reached the parking lot of my office it was showing this -- >

Boy! Either you are highly skilled at riding the Duke with the lightest right hand treatment possible, or you have been gifted a bike with a mfg. marvel!

No skill will Abhi. Just that I am riding it easy with occasional gentle bursts of gradual speeds of up to 70-75 kmph and gradual deceleration to ride able limits based on traffic conditions.

I am not the only one who is reading such figures. I have another friend who got the Duke along with me, who rode to the airport last night and claimed he saw 59. Then there is another bloke who measured - rode about 100+ kms and quoted 60+ kmph.

As Aditya put it - it would settle at 35-38 roundabouts once the engine breaks in.

Re: The Duke Finally arrives! (KTM Duke 200)

Congratulations Shubz sir, I was eagerly waiting for your review on Duke. Good to know that bike is a fun machine and esp with that mileage its double the fun (less fuel and more miles :-) ).

I am still waiting for my Duke and its going to another 15 days of painful waiting period for me, but hope to join you guys for rides as soon as Duke's home.

Ride hard, ride safe.
