1. Get good tyres, if you have funds, I had numerous scary & near death experiences because of TVS Srichakras (now Eurogrip). But things improved considerably after I changed tyres to Ceat make. You can go for MRF's as well.
2. Get your oil checked & changed in between service intervals as I believe they only top up the oil (like all service centers). This will improve your bike's life & performance. |
Thanks for the practical suggestions, CARDEEP. However, would you mind telling us how much the CEAT tires cost you? I had to revert the Tubeless tires back to tube 'cause of some rash driving in broken roads which led to the bending of both rims and a few wholes in both the tires.
Any idea on what the estimate may go upto (the mechanic who fixed it said that it may be around 3k for each tire)? If possible, please add the estimate of the MRF as well to that comparo :)

Head to this thread -->
Motorcycle Tyres Compared
You will get an overview of the different tyres available and how they perform. MRF Zapper Vyde would cost you around 2100/- for the rear and for the front you can look at the R15 v2.0 front tyres. Estimate for both the tyres together should be around 4k or 5k at the most. :) For the rear another option is the IRC NR48 but its a soft compound tyre and might not hold up on the rough patches that managed to damage the stock tyres!!
Hey, how's the bike doing?

Bike is now sold after 23000kms.. It was totally trouble free except for the niggles reported initially. Reason for sale was multi-fold. Shifting of the house close by to office, the toddler monging more attention and having no time for weekend rides. So sold the bike and bought a Wego in September last year for grocery duties! :)
Haha, this is the start of the rest of your life then, maybe you'll return to motorcyles when the mid-life crisis strikes (if at all). All the best :)
