Good that M&M is still in the race to gain the foot hold in the 2 wheeler market. Forget the debacle of Stallio and not so encouraging sales of the Duro's, M&M should try to come up with a customer centric products.

With Yamaha also waiting to tap the scooter market, we should soon be seeing a seperate section on the forum called "What bike".

Re: M&M to invest Rs. 500 Crore in Indian Two-Wheeler Market

On paper, the Flyte and Rodeo are incredible value propositions. The features you get for the price is unmatched.

However, the quality of the individual components used leaves a lot to be desired. Plus, nobody really thinks of these scooters when they are putting their money down on a Access/Activa/Wego.

I hope the 500 crores is going to be invested in marketing and better quality of components? The market needs a credible, and desirable alternative to the Honda/Suzuki/TVS trio.

Re: M&M to invest Rs. 500 Crore in Indian Two-Wheeler Market

Hello Ghodlur,

Certainly Two-Wheeler Market in India is hot currently. The battle is wide open & most of the players are with deep pockets, thus money will not be a concern.

What is needed is more Companies like Bajaj which are upgrade the Market to value add products.

Hello KiloAlpha,

If you read the article in above link, it says - [quote] Under P S Ashok, who was the key man behind LML two wheeler business, the company has already set up a strong team of 160 engineers, which it claims is the third largest R&D set up in the country in the domestic 2 wheeler industry [Unquote]

Given such a robust R & D Team, let us hope that M&M comes out with better vehicles. If they fail to do so, likes of Bajaj & Honda are out there to slaughter M&M.

Thanks,
