Hyosung GT250R: Big Boy Launched @ 2.75 Lakh

Today, DSK Motowheels launched the Hyosung GT250R in the Indian market.
The bike has been priced at INR 2,75,000 Ex-Showroom Delhi.

Hyosung GT250R: Big Boy Launched @ 2.75 Lakh-opening.jpg

What you'll like:
  • A powerful V-twin 250cc bike for 2.75 lakh.
  • Looks big for its segment. Easily makes you believe that its more than a 600cc. (Reason: Shares the GT650R platform)
  • Dual projector head lamps, dual disc brakes & a very soft and comfortable seat.

What you won't:
  • Poor build quality. Inconsistent panel gaps and horrible stickers all across.
  • 5-speed gearbox in a time where commuter segment 150cc bikes offer 6-speed.
  • Poor brand value. Resale value will be pathetic.

High Points:
  • Looks massive. Probably the biggest looking bike in the 250cc Segment.
  • Will be available across all the 18 dealerships of DSK-Hyosung by next week. Deliveries will begin later this month.
  • Available in three colours: Flaming Snow (White & Red), Red Raven (Black & Red) and Silver Fox (Silver & Red).
  • The price will reduce significantly after the localisation begins within 18 months. Mr. Shirhsh Kulkarni (Director, DSK Motowheels Pvt Ltd.) has mentioned that the price could come down to almost half. Plans are to set up a facility in the Mumbai-Pune region so as to make use of the JNPT Port.
  • Apart from the GT250R, the other Hyosung bikes to reach the Indian 2 wheeler market this year would be the GV250 & GV650 cruiser bikes.

I not sure how many will like.It is your inference or declaration !
"What you'll like:

Its kind of oxymoron . The original comet 250 cc was 1.5 ex showroom. I don't get their strategy .They again got the pricing wrong . It should have been under 2 lakhs .

Re: Hyosung GT250R: Big Boy Launched @ 2.75 Lakh

I don't know if its the pictures but bike looks kinda cheap. Isn't a brand new bike supposed to be all shining particularly at the launch. The black color looks very uninspiring. But I have seen a GT650R on the road and it looked and sounded awesome. Maybe we should wait for more pictures before judging the quality. Overall I feel disappointed especially with the price.

* A powerful V-twin 250cc bike for 2.75 lakh.

I dont know how will anyone like this, it clearly in Ninja 250 category and Nija wins hands down in all fields.

Not all. Like any V twin versus a similar capacity Parallel twin, this bike has a lot more torque. That counts for something in pulling power and ridability. Though I agree, I would never consider this bike at 2.75 Lacs, and not only because its a Hyosung.

I guess we all know that it does not have a shot at success, not at these prices at least. It would have had a fair chance, with a price of around 2L.

This would have been a major reason for Garware Motors exiting the business - just days before the launch of the most awaited 250R.

Agree, me not likey either, pricing is way off the mark and so is the quality. I would rather go for ninja 250r just for build quality, brand and snob value. Ofcourse , Ninja iwll be way more reliable in longer run.

Re: Hyosung GT250R: Big Boy Launched @ 2.75 Lakh

I like the projector headlamps and the dual front discs on the bike. Apart from this nothing much.

Quality wise the CBR 250R and the Ninja steal the show.

Lets see how the market responds to the Comet and what could be the price drop on localisation, moreover if they improve on the quality, panel gaps.

Re: Hyosung GT250R: Big Boy Launched @ 2.75 Lakh

I'll say Killer Pricing!!! Just that the price might kill the product itself.

PS - Don't want to compare with N250R or C250R

Re: Hyosung GT250R: Big Boy Launched @ 2.75 Lakh

This indeed is "KILLER" pricing -

The product has been given a death blow right at the inception of it's venture on the Indian shores.

Pardon me on this, but who the hell would buy the GT over the Ninja with a higher pricing, no sane person to me would.

An OTR of 2L and this would have sold like a hot cake.

PS: MODS - There is an existing thread for the GT250, request for a merger.

Here is the other thread -

Happy Motoring !!
