Re: My Vespa LX 125 "Yellow Wasp" - Italian Art In Motion

@Sulivan
It should be:
20 PSI in front and 26 PSI for rear - single
20 PSI in front and 30 PSI for rear - with pillion

Post some snaps if possible.

Cheers!

22 PSI in front and 29 PSI for rear - single
22 PSI in front and 32 PSI for rear - with pillion

I am not sure!

Rephrasing my question, was this told by the service guys or is it from the company issued service manual?

Isnt it elementary that Vespa Service personnel recommend that is as per the manual ?
I use a harder set up because of the White wall inserts..30 PSI in the front and 35 PSI in rear. This makes the white wall inserts stick to the tyre perfectly and give a symmetrical wheel spin.

The front number plate should be a sticker which comes under the horn grill. Is this a new fitment position for number plate?

Yea! The crash-bar-sets both front and back are sure aftermarket ones, Rs. 1100/- together. But they feel and look a little sturdy. The front reg-number plate is the new fitment followed here, again Rs. 210/- for front and back plates (some ways to milk customers).

Have any new accessories been announced by the Vespa folks? Also any idea where one can find those awesome white inserts for the tyres?

@maverhick
They are constantly introducing new stuff. But I think the first round of accessories are already out. However in some sectors, there is a waiting list for the accessories! LOL!

Re: My Vespa LX 125 "Yellow Wasp" - Italian Art In Motion- 1000km Servicing Report

As i reached my 2nd Servicing point coincidentally i clocked 1000 km and I got a prompt reminder from Smart Auto to bring my Wasp for servicing.

When i reached the Service centre,I was amazed to see that all the Vespa which were in stock last time when i visited for 1st servicing, were cleared and the service centre was plain empty.
2nd Servicing recommended by vespa India comes after 1000km or 3 months from the date of purchase.
As usual the service personnel took fantastic care while servicing and a meticulous checks were done. The highlights of the 2nd servicing were:
  • Engine oil top up
  • Air Filter Cleaning
  • Clutch Overhauling
  • RPM setting
  • Brakes adjustment
  • Electrical Check up
  • Battery Check up
  • Tyre air pressure check up
  • Complete Shampoo Wash and Wax polishing
Some of the personal adjustments,I got done were:
  • RPM set to 800.Vespa recommended 750,but I always wanted higher revvs.
  • Air Pressure Front 30 / Rear 35 to suit the White wall inserts.
  • Brakes play adjusted to my comfort, not rather too hard.
It was sheer joy to see the clutch opened and notice all the components inside, even the Drive Belt had Piaggio marking on it.
The cost of 2nd servcing came to Rs.175.

The customer satisfaction can be rated excellent, for Vespa India is doing a great job as to how systematically the servicing is done and the amount of precision, process and expertise they are showing each time. There are no regrets now and full value for money is justified as its just not a sales gimmick and after sales support of Vespa India is simply flawless and superior.
The service manager and trusted mechanics have developped an excellent rapport with customers like me and have been trying to educate everytime about the refineness of Vespa LX 125.They need a big appreciation.

Finally went for a joy ride on the ORR and did a photoshoot on the Nanakramguda Lakeside surrounded by serene nature.
