III Servicing Report

As the 3rd free servicing appraoched, I again received a prompt SMS from Vespa Service centre.
3rd Free Service comprised of:
- Only Engine oil change
I was happy to notice that instead of Petronas Engine oil , AGIP oil was used.
I was delighted to see an Italian lubricant going into my Italian wasp.
After a thorough wash and some tuning, my Wasp was ready for a silk ride.

Its been a week since the servicing is done and , boy o boy , my Wasp flies in the traffic. The smoothness of the engine is so much refined with AGIP Engine oil , Im only beaming.
My Vespa experience continues..

Re: My Vespa LX 125 "Yellow Wasp" - Italian Art In Motion

It was time for another Wasp to join our close family. My Dad's close friend decided to buy a LX 125 for Christmas, since the reduced price deal was running only till 31st Dec 2012.
We went to SPR Vespa in Himayatnagar to take delivery of the LX 125.As a part of the deal , certain accessories were thrown in like - Side bar with footrest, front bumper guard, Seat covers , Indicator buzzer and foot pegs.
It was kind of sad to see, holes being drilled into the body to fit these accessories, but they are needed for an Indian context.
I got a buzzer fitted to my LX 125 for Rs.100.

I bought vespa on festival offer on discount waiving Road tax and insurance in October,12. It seems Piaggio decided to continue the same price level. Good decision. http://www.autocarindia.com/News/328...ewsletterclap:

Three Cheers to Vespa India and Smart Auto for such a lovely experiance.
Thought i'll share my 1st service experience which was exactly the opposite.(nothing really to cheer about )

a) No call received from the service center(had to call them instead)
b)'Accountant' came over and said he is the service advisor for today
c) He knew nothing on whats to be done
d) Vehicle was not washed (had to insist on getting that done)
e) Bill was inr 250.

Had to drink 2 glasses of orange juice at the bundi (cart) just outside their service center to cool me down

Hillram, Sir I've been following this thread quite closely and it is as comprehensive as you could get about your ownership experience. I've decided to buy a scooter & I really like the vespa but the only thing holding me back is the apprehension about the dealer. They are not not really known for their customer friendliness and are quite arrogant. They are dealers for RE as well. My instinct tells me I can't really trust them when it comes to after sales support but they are the sole dealership in town. I really don't know if I should take the plunge.

Vespa dealership has come under question these days and Im noticing many incidents where the customers, including me have registered unhappiness over service issues. So i would advise you to get the confidence of the dealer and his after service capabilities before taking a plunge.
Other wise, the LX125 itself is a wonderful lifestyle product, which you will enjoy thoroughly.

Does the company respond to negative feedbacks ? Were your grievances redressed ? I requested a test-ride through the Vespa website but nobody has contacted me yet but I really don't think any two wheeler manufacturers will respond to online TD requests.

Savings grace was that, Vespa India responded to my grievences and directed the local dealer to adress them, which were promptly done.

Re: My Vespa LX 125 "Yellow Wasp" - Italian Art In Motion

As the 4th Free Servicing reached..Lots of pain points started to arise:
- I didnot receive the service reminder or call
- I learnt that it was paid service and not a free service

I reached the Service centre in Jubilee hills and first thing i noticed is that there were more than 25 Vespas waiting for servicing. All right the cash register is ticking for Vespa India finally !!!

Vespa mechanic promptly started working and with in an hour everything was completed. What was done? Nothing really...
- Brakes adjustment
- No Engine tuning
- Air Filter cleaning
- Battery Check up
- Water Wash
I was produced a bill of Rs.303
I refused to pay and said that i will take it up with Vespa India. The Service centre head was new and didnot know any procedures. He explained me the labour element was not free for 4th servicing which was Rs.225 and there was a Rs.50 charged for consumables. Again the Service centre head wasnt clear what these consumables were !!! Another

By now the heat was turning up and I was clearly upset. So to cool my nerves, the service centre head offered me a free Teflon coat. For the next 2 hours, efforts were made to reduce my frustration by a 3 coat teflon ,polish for tyre and rubber mats.

I came out not satisfied by this experiance and now intend to take up with Vespa India, the mediocre service provided to my Vespa.
Few pics during and after the servicing...

Sir, what is the mileage that you are getting? My vespa's giving only 40-45 as against the tall claims of the company (60 kmpl).
