Superb restoration done!
65k seems okay to me looking at the work done. The paint quality is amazing too.

Wish you lots of happy miles on your ride!

Re: Rebirth of an '81 Royal Enfield 350 STD

Great one Man !!

And IMO the cost or restoration is also quite good. Consider the fact that in Pune a bike in a much worse condition than yours (before restoration ) would cost you anywhere around 50-70K .

Cost aside, the bike looks awesome and set to take on anything for quite a few years to come now !! Congratulations again !!

A mechanic makes his living by fixing bikes. The greater the work required, the more the mechanic makes.

Will any mechanic in India tell you not to buy a run-down, neglected bike? Of course not! All he saw was $$$$$ signs:-)

If I sound a bit harsh on the mechanic, it is only because I have seen that 99% of Enfield mechanics are only about ripping off the customer, their favourite being the younger, naive types who are spending their (usually)daddy's hard earned money or (rarely) their own.

No offence in particular to the thread starter , the above description fitted me too many years ago :-)

BTW, what is the handle type called?

Re: Rebirth of an '81 Royal Enfield 350 STD

Hey Bro,

What you have just pointed out is true but not in my case. I was there during the dismantling process and personally took stock of the parts to be replaced. So the list wasn't given by the mechanic . Also the labour charges weren't high at all since he is my personal mechanic working for me for atleast 10 yrs now.
The handle is extended RD350

If you need his contact I am more than happy to share

Ride Safe..
Cheers
