Re: Top Case for motorbike

I had seen someone using this on a RE classic and asked him. He had bought it from JC road. So, see if you can call someone from JC Road and check.

I think it is available with Adeshwar Auto Zone, just next to passport office Lalbagh road. Call and check once - 98864 29330. They do installation also through a mechanic, may be charges could be additional.

I have no affiliation with them, have bought helmets & mobile mounts.

I have used this case and believe me the quality is not that great like the Givi or Shad etc.... only certain items not exceeding 3.5 kg or papers can be accommodated otherwise its built to cost. Even led lights can be installed inside it easily but the plastic is of average quality.

I would suggest you research a bit more and buy the Coocase since Givi is very hard to find.

I'd second the Coocase, very robust and easy on the pocket. Availability is also not an issue, I got mine via Sahyadri Moto, Pune.

I have been using a givi topcase and side cases since 2 years on my duke 390.
They are sturdy and stable, didnt have any problem on my leh ride with pillion.
I had got mine from a friend travelling from malaysia to india.

The bonneville is a fast bike, you will need a sturdy frame and case which will give you peace of mind while riding, i would suggest you to search on

http://www.superbikestore.in/accessories/luggage.html or source the case from abroad, it would be better.
Cheers!

I bought it even before the site was up, you could try contacting them directly and inquiring as I see most of their products seem to be missing from their website.

Yes exactly what I was going to say... There are a lot of things in market which are not listed on the web, visiting there would be actually more better.

Re: The Saddle & Tail Bag Review Thread

What are options to make slanted panniers, with signal lights embedded in them? Plastic fabricators/ metal fabricators?
Not looking for leather ones

Similar to the ones in the pic

Finally bought a Studds Top Case and Fitting rack from a Bike accessories shop in Trivandrum when I went on a holiday. The next step is to get it fixed to the Bonnie. I want to ensure that I use the stock mounting points which means I will have to fabricate a mounting clamp that can weld on to the Fitting rack (the one I bought is for the RE Thunderbird). Took some measurements and have given it to the local fabricator with a detailed drawing. He was a little taken aback by the complexity and said he would do it in his free time. Since I was in no hurry, have told him to take his time. Will keep you guys updated.

Re: The Saddle & Tail Bag Review Thread

I’m looking for a good saddle bag for my Himalayan. I checked out the Cramster colt and found it too small. The finish quality did not appeal to me either. Given how the exhaust is placed on the bike, my options seem rather limited.Im looking for a bag which can hold luggage for a week. The Vieterra claw pro looks good but is slightly pricey. Are there any other good options?

Check out the bags by rynox, the exhaust wouldn't be a problem I think.
Found them to be good and sturdy, i have the saddle, tail and tank bag from them.served me well with no problems.

The posts on the very first page of this thread by Aargee have a lot of detail on the build quality, ease of use and durability of the pieces of motorcycle luggage reviewed.

I have used the Claw by Viaterra and found it to be a robust piece of motorcycle luggage. It's well designed, spacious and ergonomic. Having used it for long rides, I can say from experience that it is one of the better tail bags of the lot - easy to mount, firm in the saddle with nary a shift once fastened (even at highway speeds) and has a lot of space. IMO, for secure carriage of luggage on a motorcycle, you can't go wrong with the Claw.

The one drawback though would be the inability to have a pillion when you have the Claw mounted.

Cheers !

Guess right now there are 5 ViaTerra Claw models to choose from with varying prices

Claw Mini (Original)
Claw Mini 2017
Claw (Original)
Claw 2017 and
Claw Pro

Claw Mini (Original) being the most economically - (around Rs.2.8K) priced to the Claw Pro being the most dearest (around 6K). Check out ViaTerraGear.com

Re: The Saddle & Tail Bag Review Thread

Finally completed the DIY of fixing the Studds Top Box on my Bonnie. Looks as I expected. Need to ride a while to see if any issues but looks good for now. Total cost including cost of box and fabrication less than 2000. Let the photos do the talking
