Why this bag? There are custom bags for the Dukes. I think the Dirtsack website has a line only for the Dukes. Check their site.

Thanks AAGREE, I see that you have a CBR. Could you post an image with the bag fixed on the bike? Do you also have a tank bag to go along with the ViaTerra?

I am in the market for a new bike for touring( Back to biking after 4 years. I was a die hard Bulleteer) Now planning between the Bullet 500, KTM 390 and CBR20. The decision will be made after looking at the hauling capacity and relative comfort.

The viaterra is excellent quality as aargee says. The dirtsacks seem nice and I may have to go with them if I cant carry my photo gear on my back with the claw behind.

I agree with you, I checked the bag out and it seemed really nice. Only problem is if I'll be able to carry my back pack with it on my bike. Can you carry one on yours?

For carrying camera & gears, checkout Viaterra's new product FLY that claims to convert into tailbag, backpack & tankbag as well.

Have no experience of using this, however, if the size is around 25-30 liters capacity, it will be ideal to use on road trip of about 4 days max.

I actually have been keenly contemplating this very camera bag, the only problem is that I am concerned about the vibrations possible damaging some equipment when mounted on the tank. This is why I would like to find some sort of solution using my Lowepro backpack and a saddle bag. The added advantage of the lowepro is that you can carry more gear!

Small update - We'd been to the recent ISG2G (Interstate Get To Gather) at Kodaikanal this year & I had to carry few used motorcycle spares to hand over to some friends. This is what I carried...
- 5S Gear box
- Complete clutch unit comprising of primary drive, clutch & friction plates, boss clutch, springs & their bolts
- Carburetor
- Crankshaft
- Ignition coil
All weighing close to 15 Kg or so; this is in addition to the regular luggage. The tail bag did well & didn't move a mm from the original fastening.

Coming to specifications...
One really doesn't need, Reflective Piping (that too ample) & 2 Bottle Holders (Holds 1 Litre each) because, we would obviously have a tail or saddle bag the bottle & our riding gears would have ample reflectors.

And when compared the rest of the specification, I see dirtsack offers better.

Got confirmation from the DirtSack team, that the particular product has been discontinued and they plan to launch a new one pretty soon.

So I am back to the same place from where I had started earlier. Apart from Cramster, is there any other good affordable options available [with regards to the Waist Pack] ?

I checked out the Cramster Hippo waistpouch, and was satisfied with the space and quality on offer. The strap is big enough to accommodate well built people as well.

Other than this you can look at the ViaTerra Ranger waistpouch as well. Good quality stuff at an affordable price.

Thank you Motormania. I did check the ViaTerra Waist Pouch, but looking at the size it does not seem to be accomodative enough for my camera. I think I will also be going for the Cramster Hippo, tried and tested
