It is a very impressive machine.
Thanks a lot buddy. You are absolutely right, the 300 is worth every penny spent on it. Yes I agree that its steep in price but I guess at this age and stage of service it was not that difficult putting the pennies together for this beauty.

Started my month long holidays today. As nothing specific was planned for the day decided on an early morning spin to a close by location. Actually wanted to take the bike on a spin on the twisties and check the cornering capabilities. Started at around 0530 in the morning, fortunately the weather gods were really kind and the experiance riding early in the morning was heaven.

After completing nearly 650 kms on the odo the clutch and gear shifting is super smooth, and i suppose after the first servicing it would improve further. There are absolutely no vibrations felt while riding this machine.

Cornering the bike is really cool and there is a sence of confidence while doing so. The only piece of caution which i felt was required was when there was gravel on the road. That is the only time i felt that the bike was slightly unstable. It munches the steep inclinds easily in 4th gear without any effort what so ever.

cont....
Need to start a new post as the previous one exceeded the 1MB data limit.

One thing that i felt again this time was that the present setup of seats is on the firmer side and they tend to become uncomfortable on longish rides. Will go in for gel inserts shortly.

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling

Well completed the mandatory 1000 Kms and got the first servicing done today. Actually the odo read 1250 when i reached KTM. The delay was due to unavailability of Motul oil at their end. My what a change its made to the engine, the transmission is even smoother than before and tripple digits are reached in a breeze. As there is no KTM outlet at my place i drove to Amritsar to get the servicing done (110Km one way) The diffference post servicing was apparent. The servicing experiance was very pleasent, the staff was all out to take care of the bike. Actually my arrival there was like a mini carnival, as this was the first 300 at their showroom they had called all the prospective buyers to have a glimpse of the 300 in person (they presently dont have a display bike). And to all the average conscious fans the bike is giving me a constant 30 KPL, i guess its a pretty decent figure. And the best part is that even at 90KMPH in 6th gear the eco light remains on.

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling

Its been quiet a while since i have posted on this thread. Life had been full of twists and turns. Not withstanding my Ninjette has been rolling along. Have moved to a new place, however the twisties of himachal are always close by. The engine is turning as smooth as a hot knife through butter. The cornering is excellent, or to say that i am now fully settled with the bike. Have started riding with a group and am enjoying every bit of it.

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling

I wonder how I missed this thread.

Congratulations on your 300 and wishing you many happy and safe miles.

What engine oil are you using in the bike? I would suggest you to change the oil at least once every 6k or 7k kms if not earlier. For ease of calculation I change the oil in my Ninja 250R every 5k kms.

The manual recommends oil change at 12k kms but best to change earlier since this is a high revving machine.

You might have heard people say 4L is way too much money for this bike but in reality the bike is worth the price tag. I heard the same when I bought my bike but quality comes at a price.

Enjoy the bike and i would suggest you to read up on this thread too.

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling

Thanks buddy. Actually i too was wondering that there has hardly been any activity on the Ninja thread on this forum. I guess all the owners are still euphoric on their machines. Any way i have put MOTUL oil as recommended by the manual and yes i would get the oil changed at 6K when my bike goes in for its 2nd servicing.

Hi Sameer, I'm in the market for a second hand Ninja 300 (2013) that's run 14k kms. I would like some buying advice from you as to what should I look out for in the vehicle. Any nooks and cracks that would show abuse of the vehicle, the accelerator free play etc. Please let me know when you have time, it would be great if we can PM each other or have a call from one biker to another 'safe riding my friend'
