re: Scoop Pics : Unidentified Cruiser spotted Testing. EDIT: Harley-Davidson Street 750 !

Does Harley have a factory? Is it located in Haryana, NCR?

Pretty sure its not a Harley. I see that the engine is a 90 deg twin whereas Harleys are usually 60 deg.

Looks very much like a metric cruiser most likely Yamaha!

If it's the baby Harley, then it's a very opportune moment for its launch. Keep it coming HD...

re: Scoop Pics : Unidentified Cruiser spotted Testing. EDIT: Harley-Davidson Street 750 !

Does Harley have a smaller engine (lesser than the current 800cc) in their global lineup? I think not and i doubt they would make an India Specific engine. They would rather market it as the big boys toy than make a smaller engine.

The fueltank-handlebar looks very Avenger/Eliminator-ish.

Harley tanks rise up and are usually peanut shaped. Width of the cylinders suggests DOHC head.

This looks like the Yamaha bolt to me. I've heard they have been testing them since a while now..the rear fender looks different but if you see the tank and exhaust they look pretty much identical.

The Bolt's direct rival to the Sportster 883/Iron line up, rising tank, smallish tail.
This for sure is not a Bolt.
The tank's flat on this one, more like the super low.

I guess, it is some "To be launched" cruiser under testing.

Assumed, it to be a Harley but I'm told, it is NOT.
Motoroids have taken the scoop from team-bhp and stamped it as the upcoming Harley Davidson for India.

BUT - I hope its not a Harley. Bike looks too small and doesn't have the road presence to pull it off! Looks like a bigger engined Avenger, specially the fuel tank to front wheels! Rear looks decent though.

Told by whom? Did you have a conversation with them?

Wish it should be an Avenger. As whatever we may discuss at length about HD/Bolt or anyother foriegn intruder, the fact remains if its a Bajaj it would be reasonably priced.

I think it is sure a baby HD, tank shape, front alloy and side reflector, rear shocks and sari guard, engine bay and overall looks are HD only. May be they are developing a small and affordable bike for India to play a volume game.

re: Scoop Pics : Unidentified Cruiser spotted Testing. EDIT: Harley-Davidson Street 750 !

Spotted these bikes on Faridabad - Gurgaon expressway.

Escorts Yamaha factory is in Faridabad where they make tractors only & their bike manufacturing unit is in Greater Noida, UP.
AFAIK, Yamaha test bikes have UP16/ UP14 temp.
HR 99 is Faridabad/ Gurgaon temp registration number.

Harley Davidson has their Head office in Gurgaon & assembling factory in Bawal Haryana.

re: Scoop Pics : Unidentified Cruiser spotted Testing. EDIT: Harley-Davidson Street 750 !

Nice Scoop, Kpzen
These pics seems to have started floating around in the internet.

However, I do not think its a Harley, Because;
Harley is not having an engine capacity lesser than 883cc. They had tried reducing the engine capacity of 883 cc engine earlier in one of their Buell models. However the engine turned out to be a failiure.

The exhausts have been merged to one, Its defenitely not a Harley. It could be a smaller engine (around 500cc). Most probably its a new Yamaha.

Nowadays, there is so much movement in the 2 wheeler segment that one finds it hard to guess which model is being launched.
Whatever it is, it would give the "Yet to be launched" Cafe-Racer some competition.

re: Scoop Pics : Unidentified Cruiser spotted Testing. EDIT: Harley-Davidson Street 750 !

The rear/front suspension, speedo seem to be exactly same as in Iron 883. The front fender, chasis also looks similar to 883. The tank seems to be borrowed from superlow. The difference is that the rear disk brake is on the right hand side, whereas Iron 883 has on left. The indicators are probably new. For me, it appears to be baby HD undergoing some field testing.

re: Scoop Pics : Unidentified Cruiser spotted Testing. EDIT: Harley-Davidson Street 750 !

Yesterday, I discussed this scoop with a collegue working in the Engine Design field. Based on information from him, Harley is developing a new "India Specific" 800cc Engine with AVL, the Austrian consulting firm. They are also working on a new power-train unit for this engine. It could be a possibility that HD is making a new cruiser for India with new engine & new transmission. If its a Harley, I hope it retains a Harley's DNA.

AFAIK, No matter at what level the bike is priced, Harley makes sure it follows it's roots and the heritage is found in it's lineup.
And It certainly looks to be a Harley except for it's exhaust which appears to be modified to me. If it's stock then may be kpzen can give some hints on how the bike sounded, as the sound of Harley is very unique and that can give some hint on what this cruiser is.
