Saw a massive crowd at KTM Langford on my way to college at 8:15 this morning. I also noticed a lot of people leaving with massive grins plastered on their faces and just couldn't fathom what was going on. I logged on to t-bhp, then realized just what was going on.
Bajaj, you beauty! Absolutely stunning pricing. I expected it to be priced at ~3L on road. Time to butter up the father.
Oh Dadddyyy.. :P

re: The KTM Duke 390 Ownership Experience Thread

I heard the resale of the 200 has reached in the 80s already, that is even before the 390 has come to the dealers. After the test ride and actual bookings of 390, the resale of 200 will sink further is the talk going on. This was bound to happen in any case. But the best part is that anyone who is giving up 200 for 390 will not repent on lost money for long, at least on paper the 390 looks very rewarding (I am sure it will be too), and look at it this way, you are getting the 390 at a bargain so what if you sell your 200 for a bargain.

I think you heard it wrong then. In blore 200s are going in for 1.1 to 1.25 depending on how they are maintained and run .Even the dealer evaluated a bike at 1.05 ,for the exchange of 390 ,then it would fetch 10 -15 K more on private sell .200s ,the first lot are with more top end and quick acceleration .The later lots were de-tuned for smoother run .

re: The KTM Duke 390 Ownership Experience Thread

Does anyone know the deal with the Chennai KTM showroom? The shutter has been down on the original showroom on Sardar Patel road for a while, presumably for renovations. In the mean time, I found a new showroom in Shastrinagar with all the display bikes (including the RC8). I assumed that this was a temporary showroom while they were setting up the main one since its much smaller and a little dingy. However, none of the employees working there are the ones I met in the original showroom a little over a month ago.

I made the booking for the 390 and the envelope with the invoice has the old address on it and their seal says Sri Jai Autos which I believe was the name of the original. Just seeing the employees got me thinking.

Anyone have any idea regarding this? Is the Shastri Nagar showroom the same as the original, or is it a new dealer in town?

It could be, but I made a mention of this since I got this info from one of the KTM employees (cannot quote names etc), and strangely he never mentioned about exchange of 200 for 390 is available, if it is so then its great for guys who are upgrading, I would say that would be a very caring gesture by BAL for its existing 200 customers.

Chennai on road - 2.045

Finance option

Downpsyment - 69

Interest - 9.5 for 1 year and increases by 0.5 for rvery six months.

Approximately 12.7k per month and you pay 18k extra at end of 1 year. Approximation.

Downpayment in addition to booking amt? - 30 +69. You get finance on 1 L @ 10% for 1 year. Reasonable but not a great deal.

The 69K includes the booking amount of 30K. So it is a loan of 1.3l @ 9.5% for 1 year. I think its a very good deal.

re: The KTM Duke 390 Ownership Experience Thread

Hey Guys, for those looking for an OTR price in Mumbai i have some information that may be handy

Got a call from Bajaj Pro Biking showroom in Kanjurmarg yesterday and they informed me that the OTR for Duke 390 in Mumbai is 2.04 Lacs including everything. She also said that they do not have a display bike yet, though that should come in a weeks time. When i asked about a test ride, she said that maybe in 2 weeks we should have a demo bike with us.

She also mentioned that the current pricing is only for a limited period and will change after July or so, so if you are interested please take a decision fast otherwise you will end up paying 15-20k more. However, I do not belive that Bajaj will hike the price so early, they may use the same tactic as the Duke 200, increase the price after 3 months or so.

I loved the duke 200 and i think a 43.5 Bhp bike like the 390 with such monstrous power to weight ratio will be a demon on wheels and would have loved to buy this beast. However, i recently purchased a Dzire Regal in the previous week so i am little short on money. But i will keep a eye on this beauty.

Booked my 390 yesterday at Probiking Mangalore. On road price in Mangalore is 2.18. I was the 3rd one to book.

Fun part is all three people who booked at this showroom are 2 stroke aficionados

Where's the Doc? Ebonho? Has he booked the bike yet? or is he still standing in line outside a wayward pune dealership? LOL.

I wonder why nobody asked Rajiv Bajaj about other variants of the 390 at the launch. Could have gotten some information from the horse's mouth.

Is that the 390? Why is there a 200 sticker on the tank? am I not seeing things right? First glance, this looks like the 200 with the orange trellis.
