If you are taking your wife regularly as a pillion, please keep the saree guard. Without the hugger and guard the bike is too open and by mistake if the saree gets into the bike there is not much you can do.

Also with saree mostly women sit on one side, which means the other side or right side is still exposed where pallu can get caught.

While the Idea of the Saree guards has long outlived it's real intent of protecting sarees from getting caught in the wheel, it is still useful for many other practical purposes. Eg: When I do grocery and hang the cover on the grab rails, the saree gaurd prevents the cover from rubbing against the wheel and all my groceries have a safe ride home

I think these are pretty good functional parts. Why would we want to remove them. Apart from stopping some dust, water on the traffic that is following you it will also be a good place holder for all the ugly office, residence parking stikkers.
I have to work in a SEZ area of a office complex and they have a large 3.5X3.5 inch square sticker. I avoided it a lot but recently they forced me to put it on my Thunderbird. Could find only one place where it is not a eye sore - very bottom of the front mud gaurd. Why cant they design simple small round stickers that are at max 1.5/2 inch in diameter?

Im used to lifting the bike by the grabrails and moving it to the side while parking it in my garage. Been doing so with the bullet and zma since a decade!! I have a slight issue with space in my garage.

I regularly do it with my CBZ but the grab rails of HMC bikes are built so strong that a single grab rail itself can bear the entire weight of the bike! Now learned much from your experience and the 390's rails are not going to come off now

BTW, I got something from under the pillion seat and it looks like this. Any idea what's it? Both ends were in air.

That's a battery band. It ensures the battery isn't unsettled when you ride over potholes.

That should be tool kit holding bands , the battery band is wider and single .

Yes, it was the battery band. Now fixed it. This clearly shows how much effort is going into PDI these days

Page 170 of the manual says: Use Super Unleaded (ROZ 95/ RON 95/ PON 91) according to DIN EN 228 (ROZ 95/ RON 95/ PON 91)

What does this mean? Should we be using Super Unleaded only? OK to use Shell Super. I think that is supposed to RON 91.

Normal petrol in Euro 4 enforced cities is RON 91.

I am confused now. I am also in the habit of lifting the rear by holding the grab rail. Should I stop doing this ? I thought it is a case of defective grab rail. Could it be that grab rail is not good enough for taking the load ? In the past one week I have not felt anything amiss while doing so. May be we should wait for some more instances of grab rail breakage ??

This is what KTM Trivandrum showroom manager told me.

Hindustan Petroleum- Normal petrol is 87 octane and Power is 91 octane
Bharat Petroleum- Normal petrol is 91 octane and Speed is 93 octane
IOC- Normal 91 octane and Xtra premium 93 octane

Its just the info given by the showroom manager and he advised to only use 91 octane or higher. Not sure about the octane ratings. I am using regular petrol from BPCL. Which fuel are you using guys? Have you faced any problems like detonation or pinging when using normal fuel?

Today I've conquered Gingee Fort, Tamilnadu with my wife at pillion.
As usual Bike has done its part and we both have really enjoyed the ride.
Have got 33 Kmpl in Console and used HP normal petrol.
Have got two chances to check ABS
Have maintained 100-110 all the way except Tindivanam-Gingee stretch. Currently roads are being laid. Hopefully by next year we will get a very nice road till Thiruvanamalai.
