SCOOP! Hero's new Fully Faired Bike caught

Quote:
The fully faired bike shrouded in blue covers caught near the Dharuhera plant of Hero MotoCorp and it looks interesting if not promising. The front shares some silhouette with the Hero ZMR. From the side the bike looks big and heavy with fairing covering the engine, we could not make out the cylinders but from the sound and current trend in the Indian market, it will be a single cylinder Fuel Injected, liquid cooled engine. There are split seats, which is an upgrade from the ZMR.

The tyres look skinny and do not match with the profile of the heavy bike on display. There are disc brakes in front and rear. The exhaust does not look very attractive either and in all, the bike looks like with a new engine, new fairing with old parts from the previous Hero bikes.

The two riders wearing Hero shirts were doing good speeds at the time of capture and asked us to stop several times during the brief footage that we managed to get. Hero is the number one two-wheeler maker in India and the company is ruling the commuter segment like no other. Now that the market is shifting to the higher segments, Hero is making an effort to join the league of high displacement bikes. Currently, the Hero ZMR is the flagship model, which is loosely based on the more popular Hero Karizma ZMA-R. Hero has been struggling to prove itself in the premium motorcycle category and the new launch might just change everything.

Sure, not the best pictures, but gives us some hope that Hero will finally get their act together! But reports says this could also be the Pulsar 375, but given how the Duke 200 had an underbelly exhaust that the P200NS picked up, I don't expect the Pulsar 375 to have the regular exhaust.

Why would a test driver for Bajaj wear Hero T-Shirts. That would be the height of camouflaging. Nope it should be a Hero vehicle.

I'm sorry, but I'm not able to find what you're referring to. Could you please tell me which picture shows them wearing Hero T-Shirts?

Also, it looks like the ZMA, seems to have the usual red coloured shocks, no monoshock and the alloys looks very, very similar to those on the ZM-R, ZMA, the old Xtreme and the Hunk.

I'm hoping it's 4-valved, packs some 22+ horses and liquid cooled. The ZM-R was a wasted opportunity at getting back at the R15 when the market didn't have the 200NS, CBR150R, CBR250R, Duke 200 and the Duke 390. It's late, but better late than never! Hope Hero gets it right this time.

Front alloy, brake rotor and fork legs look like its a direct lift from Karizma! Its a Hero without doubt!

It's a karizma face lift again. The rear view mirrors, alloy, disc, fork, silencer - all these are a straight lift off from the current gen karizma. Even the riding position looks similar. I just hope they are giving it a new 250 CC engine. 223CC Engine will just not fetch them new customers.

Mot probably this will be a sticker Upgraded ZMR with a few more upgrades here and there because it looks almost like the current ZMR which is a very big let down to the ZMA.

No wonder ZMA sales are still better than the ZMR even today.

re: SCOOP! Hero's new Fully Faired Bike caught

So it looks like finally somebody senior at the R & D at Hero has taken a stand and bought the attention of Hero's senior management towards fun to ride motorcycles. They seem to have been so busy laughing their way to the bank making splendors and passions that they didn't bother to pay attention towards the ever increasing performance biking community. Hoping that this is not one of the Hero's half hearted effort from the past with a Star or a Plus badging.

re: SCOOP! Hero's new Fully Faired Bike caught

Definitely not a Bajaj!!
In addition to what others have spotted above, the "long" handle bars also point towards the ZMR + the rear view mirrors. In the 2nd last pic one can also spot the "air duct" outline beneath the headlight which the ZMR has.
The only thing different which I can spot are the exposed forks near the handle bar. In the ZMR the forks aren't visible to this extent as they are covered by the fairing.
But, here one can see the forks start to end..

Looks strikingly similar(comment restricted to these pics only) to the ZMR which is very sad, where are the mono-shocks HERO and why such a design which is oh-so similar to the out going version ?

re: SCOOP! Hero's new Fully Faired Bike caught

Hope this is not a copy from any Honda bike.

Like the Honda Stunner becomes the Hero Igniter, same way the Honda CBR 250R would become a Hero bike with some panel changes and their trademark Red Rear suspension.

Lets wait what Hero has for us.

Cheers,
Anurag.

re: SCOOP! Hero's new Fully Faired Bike caught

Its more than a face lift, atleast am hoping that.
More clear pictures of the bike in question were posted New Hero flagship sportsbike coming, which shows and confirms that its a replacement of the current ZMR. The typical alloy wheels and the rear suspension and exhaust design confirms it. IMO its more than a sticker job, the tail section seems to be totally new, the step-type design similar to the liking of R15 V2.0 and the CBR250R. Also noticeable is the open chain and a integrated rear-tyre hugger.

re: SCOOP! Hero's new Fully Faired Bike caught

The ACI pictures further prove that it is indeed a Karizma variant, I wouldn't call it successor just yet.

It seems to sport a half chain case, not the usual full chain cases seen on the ZMA and the ZMR.

The handlebar seems to be redone too. Not the clip-ons from the new Xtreme and the ZMR.

Rear tyre seems a little bigger. 120 perhaps?

This picture seems clearer.

What are the chances that Hero is using this as a basic prototype? I mean, just using a reworked engine with the old externals for testing purposes but are planning on a monoshock in the final design?

re: SCOOP! Hero's new Fully Faired Bike caught

Often not much variation is seen from the pictures that revolve around as "scoop/ spied" images. So IMO there is not going to be any huge significant difference in the design aspects that we see from these images.

Am already not liking the tail end. Imagining the existing ZMR tail lamp stepped-up.What a sight that would be. The front looks to have a larger windscreen and better styled clip-on's. The front should surely be interesting and if with a projector lamp, it would be the icing on the cake. Right now there is more speculations, so will have to wait and watch.

With the festive season staring in sometime, the new ZMR launch should not be far away.
