Dear MindSpeeDs

Amazing story there. Read it in one go. And your RD looks really sweet. I am almost done with my RD restoration, and having had her for 10 years, can totally relate to what you have written. Ride safe! Never part with her.

Cheers!

Which chambers are those? I'd gotten my fenders painted body color when it moved to black.

Thanks! Can't wait to read your restoration details. Who is doing it?
Nah, will never ever part. Don't mind picking one more though

I don't think any RD owner will mind picking one or two more. I had four at one point in time. It's a disease.

My restoration is being done by my trusty old mechanic in my home-town in Kerala. I get the parts, he does the rest.
It has been on for the past 6 - 7 months. Hopefully, will have a story to write by next month. Almost there.

Cheers!

Whoa, four! I know a guy in the US that is quite a bit into biking and has a total of 20+ bikes. Midst his superbikes, tourers, dirt bikes he has three RDs and he loves them quite a bit.

Those chambers are from a LC RD, have a good mid range and awesome roar at full flow. Will try to source better pics!

Edit: Managed a couple of pics from the forum itself!

Are the wheels golden or does it seem so in the pics? Ported?

Yup, the wheel are indeed golden but in a matte finish, was some kind of fancy name for the coating, don't remember it though. The plating is still intact since the past 8 years! And no porting done.

8 years is quite a bit. Stock LCs in some countries were 63 horses! That speaks a lot for the pipes too. Does the stock Indian RD benefit much from the pipes though?

Could be the same guy. He doesn't live there but probably lived there. Will check with him.
Sure thing! Seems like investing in RD parts offers more returns these days. The $$ has gone up like crazy and that makes it so much more expensive almost overnight!

Re: Blue Angel - Resurrection of my Yamaha RD350

Just few months back I was out looking for a RD myself, dreaming of blasting down the streets in a cloud of smoke! And now I come here to see this beauty. Hearty congratulations on getting it up and running.

Would be such a sight to just have a look around the bike!

PS :- Did you get all the chrome work done here in Hyderabad itself? If so, could you kindly point me to the right place?

Did you sell the bike or was it stolen :P? he has an RD in that color. Changed the color now.
Nah. Just let me know where to collect them from!

Thanks! Good to know that you would be getting your bike back in shape. Seems like quite a few RD threads would be coming up on tbhp soon.
